Expand to sneezing man or Magic Garden first???

So, I have both of these in my goals list, I have enough wisp lanterns to expand to the square NEXT to either the sneezing man OR the magic garden & am not sure if there's a benefit of one over the other & would appreciate any input.

The one aesthetic benefit I can see of going to the magic garden is that the shape of my kingdom will be better overall, plus I think that square uses less lanterns... okay that's two benefits for magic garden, but I'm new to this & would love sme help! Thanks all. :-)

P.S. I looked for a thread that discusses order of expanding, but didn't see anything. Please lmk if there's already a thread about this somewhere. Cheers!

The expansion timeline is purely a matter of opinion; I don't think there's a right or wrong order to it. You might go by number of lanterns required to open a space as a sort of general guide or the expected route. Maybe there's something about it in the strategies thread.

Having said that, cultivate the art of patience and prioritize. I'd go for the Magic Garden. It's going to take time to get to Thurston, so why not spend that time accomplishing something? You're going to make lanterns forever- the garden brings new goals and the purple cow. Also, golden apples.

if you read through those short threads, players bring up good points on the benefits of either magic garden or thurston. if you haven't acquired sir pigglesworth and don't have an apple tree, then maybe you want to unlock the magic garden for a chance at a golden apple. also the magic garden provide a lot of royal points if you need it. but thurston has a lot more quests associated with him. so it all depends on what is more important to your queen/kingdom first :)

Wonderful, thank-you! I bought an apple tree awhile back & still waiting for a golden drop for Pigglesworth, but want to avoid upgrading the fruit trade for now until I get enough tickets for the chateau & tinker shop... or at least more tickets than the 10 I have so far.
