Using Gifts

How can I use the gifts that are in "my gifts", to build with? Also when I ask for items to help build, and they show up under NEWS how am I supposed to use them? I just get the message that it is a constructable part, can't be served. What good does it do to store them in my gists?

This thread (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?15812-Constructible-Appliance-How-To) has lots of information about the constructible appliances and parts :)

The parts were added to "My Gifts" so that people could easily see how many of each part they have (I believe).
