Expansion Help Please!!

New to this game and I'm not sure how the expand works. I paid 2,000 and waited 2 hours and it didn't even clear the land. I clicked the expand sign again and this time it wanted 4,000 so I paid and now I'm waiting another 2 hours and wondering if anything will happen or if I am just wasting time and coins. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know

You have to pay to clear the trees and stuff too. Tap on them and the price will show in the bottom right corner.

Check your goals first though: sometimes part of a goal will be to clear something, and you have to open the goal first for it to count. :)

All the trees it let me clear are gone already. I just don't understand why giving 2,000 coins and 2 hours did nothing. Do I have to expand multiple times before it actually gets rid of anything?

What part are you trying? It shouldn't just be taking your coins and not expanding
