Building on Expansion

I'm trying to build on the upper level expansion but, even though I've purchased the land and cleared it I cannot build on it. Can anyone tell me how I build on the other islands please?

Building on the upper island can be tricky if u havnt done it before, purchase the item/habitat u want then drag/flick it to the upper island. Hope this helps.

If you want a building on the upper levels, purchase it and when it's on your island, hold your finger on it (don't let go, whatever you do!) and move your finger to where you want it and release. I seriously can't stress enough, do not let go! Otherwise the building will flick back to where it originally was, and you'll have to try again.

I also find that there are hidden small Mushmold up there. This will prevent you from building on it.
I've had to sometimes clear the next square over before I can see it.
If you move a building those areas will some go semi-clear and you can see if there is something there.
Zooming up close and tapping around the area you can sometime select the foliage even if you can't see it.
