Fossil Dragon

I got my fossil with meteor x ice age. 12 hours in the den, 24 flames to hatch. I also got another ice age with that combo (12 hours in the den, 3 flames to hatch).

Just managed to get 2 Bedrock dragon with Cave and fossil. Breeding time 8 hrs. Needs 60 flames to hatch or 200 gold to speed up. Evolution time 4 hrs.

The breeding times seem to be random for different players. (4, 8 or 12), I am not sure about the flames .

It's as if they're testing the feature. Like in Castle story when there were different max energy (some had 40, some had 30, now everyone has 40)

I only ever get 8 hours breeding time. I've had so many ice age dragons so I was starting to think that was what was 8 hours. Then I got a abominable dragon at 8 hours but a different amount of flames.
I'm currently trying to hatch one with 60 flames so I have no idea what it is.

in my case, it should be sasqu or yeti..

Seems I got lucky with 4hr breeding time. Hope I can start producing those flames at a steady pace -.-

Hey guys, I was getting confused with the names and breeding combos (LOL I am so noobed-out right now, you have no idea) so I made this for myself so I could check them out. It was supposed to be a list but it was so long that I just put them in squares, very un-professional-y I know, but my paint s****s are limited. so... xD

I think the flames vary too. Everywhere it is posted that Snowflake is 144 flames & mine was 234. On the chart that someone posted it said 160 flames for Alpine then someone else posted they got 440 flames for Alpine. This is very confusing.

I agree, I think both the breeding times and flames are being tested so players will see different ones.

no problem :D I was having trouble geting them sorted out too lol (I completely forgot which ones I had already bred and which ones I had not). For some reason I couldn't memorize them @___@;;
Hmmm, yeah. Well, snowflake is A LOT prettier than Alpine so... :D I did manage to (FINALLY!!!!!!!) breed a diamond dragon a week ago, but I don't know if I'll go for this hybrid first. Maybe I will, even before Crusader, since there's technically no fail.

I agree this is nice. However, the combos shown above are NOT the only combos you can use to get these dragons. For instance, I got YETI using abominable and ice age and I got abominable using ice age and ice age. So if a different dragon appears, don't be shocked.

oh, because maybe we should refer to their elements instead of the actual dragons? that makes sense. I made it with what I read about and I don't think many people have been referring to the elements instead of dragons. Lol.

I haven't really been referring to anything. Just throwing two dragons in the den and let them at it. Figure this is so new, that there are few combos to get each dragon, and until we learn all of them, its just luck of the draw.

What's the point if a dragon that can hold 200 parts/hour(example) and the habitat can hold 12?
The Update was TREMENDOUSLY AMAZING! But some of the features are just nonsence!

1- (The one stated above)
2- All dragons have the same timer? That will be awful
3- The Silo & Cauldron (Yeah,I'm not sure what it's called) can hold some of it...Last upgrade costs 100 Gold? Dude...
4- Large Farm costs 1M? Seriously?

I just got snowflake last night, hatched it this morning for 144 flames. Put in blizzard and blizzard got 180 or 160 flames (was too excited lol) and I have the 8 hr times. So really hoping its alpine, as this is my 4th attempt at blizzard types, everyone said it was so hard. Was dreading the fails, with repeat times and double gold so no way id speed it up, just not worth it lol.

Woohoo! It was Alpine! 180 flames. Cant believe my luck:) I used Ice Age+Blizzard for Snowflake and Blizzard+Blizzard for Alpine I am a very happy player today lol, three new ones back to back (I got Leo today as well) :D

I got three Ice Ages in a row trying for Sasquatch and/ or Cave :-( I already have three Ice Ages

I just started hatching my Meteor & Ice Age but ran out of flames and have to wait to craft. I wasn't thinking, I should've gone with many small flames instead on the 50. At least I did have it prepared and had 50 ready with only needing four to fill up. Oh well, live and learn

This island is crazy! Just got Abominable from Ice Age and Meteor. And yesterday got Meteor from Abominable and Sasquatch. And of course I've got the 12 hour breeding cycle. I've got some patience and will not squander gold just to speed up.

But help, Artic storage has 11 lotus blossoms that I've asked for to breed Lotus dragon. Mystic maps also but those can be used here. Will there be a craft shop in the Artic or have I hit a weird crossover???

Lotus blossoms and maps show up on both islands storage. Maps are used for both places, so the total you see is for both islands. So far Lotus blossoms are not used in the arctic, but maybe someday they will be.

My upgrad for silo and that fireplace (forgot what it is called) were first just coins (don't remember how much) then 500 gold....

I also got the 4 h breeding time, but most need alot of those flames (guess thats why i got the 500 gold to upgrade second time)

Just to throw another wrench in it, I have 12 hr breeding cycle, BUT with single gold. So it costs me 12 gold to speed up the 12 hr breeding.

Also, I'm really sure my initial ice age dragon was 16 hrs looking at the time and NOT the gold cost. I remember thinking I got an Aether from my breeding attempt (actually my 6th try to get ice and and I finally got it this morning when I looked) but when I hatched it, low and behold it was an ice age dragon finally.

I had the same problem. You need to use Firestorm, not Fire. It was a duh moment when I realized what I was doing wrong, and several 12 hr breed times later, before I caught on!

I really love this new island and the new dragons to play with. However cost is ****ing me. Since main island has to support cost of both islands and some of the cost are crazy insane high! I almost went broke playing on Arctic. Really think they need to rethink cost or something. I can't even afford to buy a second food farm and forget upgrade!
But I do love it and hope they keep it going...with some tweaks.

Oh...And! Im still trying to get Fossil. 

I agree. For the cheapest food, it is 250 coins! on the regular islands, that cheapest morsel of food is 5 coins, so it is tough not to run out of coins, since the dragons need to level up to breed,... And if you need something on regular islands it all comes out of same bank! I had same issue, and now I play regular more, and if I have spare coins over some threshold amount, I go over to arctic... Until I see the bank hit the threshold... And then it's back to collecting coins...

The only thing that would make one think this is related to rainbow is the egg. Every dragon is said to be related to it! I doubt it. But it's so exotic me intricate. The colors are mesmerizing.

Twelve hour breed time here, with single gold cost to speed up. It makes me anxious not to be able to use breed time as a way to at least guess what I'm going to get! But so far I've only gotten Ice Ages and Meteors anyway - just finally unlocked the thing yesterday morning. =P

I do want to add my voice to the people requesting that:
- The habitats have a much, much higher capacity (Twelve? Really? Just twelve? One level seven Ice Age dragon makes that in less than ten minutes!)
- The food be a lot less expensive.
- The *farms* be a lot less expensive.
- The Arctic Isles have some way to generate coins, so that the main islands aren't paying for both. I'm level 113, so my dragons are pretty good earners, but the costs of just getting the Arctic Isles started have already drained my bank to a third of what it was. To grow enough food (and buy enough habitats) to raise that many dragons to epic is going to cost a ludicrous amount at the current rate.

I do appreciate that the initial expansions use a lot less Mystic Maps and take a lot less time than the later ones on the regular islands. I appreciate that we're not having to spend coins to clear trees and rocks, too! So thank you for that. =) The Arctic Isles are really cool and I want to put some time and effort into them, which is why it's so frustrating that the costs are so prohibitive. Please rethink them. Thank you!

It was not easy for me and certainly you are not getting my fails. I had about 50 fails (3 cave, multiple fossils & meteor and tons of Ice age) before I got mine.

I have to agree. While it's super that we don't have to spend coins on clearing rocks and trees, the food is LUDICROUSLY expensive! Once I have a bunch more dragons (I've only been doing Arctic Isles a couple days), I will not be able to afford the food at all. I'll have a whole island full of dragons who give no coins, but take HUGE amounts of coins to feed. I don't think that's sustainable.

Omg that's not fair! I didn't expect to get a blizzard egg but I'm like too broke to get a habitat for it. I'm 2.2 million away from the cost of one. That's stupid! Why can't we have a small habitat then upgrade them. Now I have to wait days to build that up before I can resume doing other things on both areas simply because I have to save for a 3milion coin habitat and my egg just sits there till I get it! And I also have one breeding at the moment which will be 12 hrs but that too has to sit there and wait until I get the habitat.

What is your combination for Bedrock? There should be no Blizzards in your fails if you use IceAge/Meteor/Fossil/Cave & IceAge/Meteor/Fossil/Cave/Diamond.
IceAge takes 3 flames to thaw, Meteor 10, Fossil 40 and Cave 56 (you probably will see Fossil or Cave very rarely).

On the third try for this one with no luck so far..but that's ok because the arctic isles are (in my opinion anyway) are just a waste. Also totally not loving the fact that everytime I log on to play DS (which is getting less and less everyday) I get the popup that days 'Buy the new Bedrock dragon today!' I got Snowflake with Blizzard and Ice Age. Also Caves with Ice Age x Meteor, and Meteor x Meteor. Sabertooth with Abominable x Abominable. Trying different combos and have yet to get Fossil or Yeti. With 12 hour breeding cycles, can do only 2 a day at best. a Diamond egg is due this evening so can use that dragon in the future.

obviously your last few combos like bedrock/cave or bedrock/fossil doesnt work cause theres no diamond element in it :(

What were you thinking? You have most dragons so you should know that you can't get a diamond hybrid unless there is a diamond in the den...

I guess the cold got to you and you weren't thinking straight :p

Yes! Sent so much time in arctic, I'm not thinking straight, cold froze my brain :(

Yes but using a diamond hybrid and ice age you could get abominable (i think) or blizzard fail. I would just use diamond to be safe

Don't think I'll ever get this one :( not in the arctic much at all think ive got like 2 or 3 different dragons in there on both isles.. Just doesn't do it for me :( But congrats to all who got it.. it looks.. cool :cool: :p

Got one too, diamond hybrid on artic is completed. Needs polar, yeti, ****er whale, but I hold off until habitat increase.

Finally got Icicle Dragon after 100+ tries. Used Ice (epic)/Diamond (lvl9). Now off to the other Diamond Hybrids.

I finally have ALL arctic isle dragons :)

The only one I was missing was icicle, and I got it a few days ago.

Arctic isles is complete (til TL put out something new, please be the mine on bottom island!)

How many attempts did it take you to get the Icicle dragon?
I've tried well over 50 and nothing. The diamond dragon took less than that :(

Since I had all the other arctic dragons, I tried for this exclusively (and without speeding) - say about 4 attempts a day and it took about 4 weeks - over 100 attempts to get one.

I think there should be time available to hatch, not just flames. I can only get 4 flames per 6 minutes, and there's no way I'm staying in the game that long to hatch an egg.

One other thing: if it takes 40 flames to hatch an egg, then why 80 gold to hatch it? I mean again, I can only get 4 flames at a time, but to speed up that process, you need just (and really, there is no "just" in the way this game is set up, ie it takes 500+ gold to buy dragons; a ridiculously high cost when ratio'd with how much gold you get when making a purchase) 1 gold to speed up the process in the fire mill.

So to sum that up, when trying to hatch an egg that takes 40 flames to complete, shouldn't the gold speed up be 40 instead of 80?

this whole thing seems very confusing!

I just got an ipad and access to the arctic island. I bred the ice age dragon and there seemed already be one there so I evolved them to level 4 and bred them. Got 8 hours, which I sped up with gold and now it's on the nest for 80 flames to warm?? I haven't seen anyone mention 80 flames to warm so I have no idea what it could be.

Do they just sit there until you warm them up or do they hatch like a regular egg?

also I put ice age in with infinity and got 4 hour breed time

yes, I have the mini too :) I love it!

So far I've got ice age, fossil, abominable, metor and bedrock - not sure if that's luck or if that's how it works for everyone at first.

I like the arctic island but the flame thing is a little annoying. If I want to increase the capacity of the flame holder it's 100 gold (I already had to increase the silo with 100 gold) and the habitats don't hold much, especially the ice age ones that only hold 12 parts (wth is that when the dragons give over 100 *bedrock gives 480 per hour at level 4). I feel like all I'm doing it sitting there collecting and crafting flames....

I think TL needs to look into their artic island breeding because I have also been breeding ice age and diamond for two months straight now at 2-3 times per day and have gotten nowhere with icicle. I know it's suppose to be ultra rare but really we are talking over 200 hatches and still no icicle and I still don't have any of the other diamond hybrids either.

Finally working more consistently on my ice island

- 2 ice age
- 1 bedrock
- 2 fossil
- 1 meteor

- 1 abominable

- 1 blizzard

All 4 hours (8 gold) to breed
But the evolves range from 1hr - 12hr

I keep two dragons in the nest at all times, put them there then forget about them and go play the on the main game. I finally got Snowflake yesterday. I have yet to breed Yeti or Alpine or a diamond hybrid. It's taken months to get this far but I'm not really concerned about the timeline since visiting the Arctic Isles is just something to do waiting for things to happen on the mainland. And there aren't any long waiting times which makes it nice. These are the ones I have:

Ice Age
Fossil
Meteor
Bedrock
Penguin
Snowflake
Sasquatch
Abmoinable
Blizzard
Polar
****erwhale
Sabretooth

Having duplicate dragons is now out of the question. No room and no need for them really.

Edited to fix the list. I had put Snow Angel instead of Snowflake. Wishful thinking. Lol!

I have actually managed to breed all the ice age ones except Alpine and the Diamond hybrids. I don't focus too much on Arctic but I do breed pretty often. I actually got most of the super rares of each type before I got the rare ones. I bred Bedrock and Cave before I got Fossil. Got Sabretooth and Sasquatch before I got Yeti. Lol!

I just got ****erwhale today. It's not bad for someone not trying as hard with it as I do on the main. But my only epic is Ice Age and I just got it there yesterday. These things eat a ton of food. I work off just the one farm because I refuse to spend all the money on another one just for an island only I can see.

This went pretty smooth for me untill i had two left. NOw i think ive been stuck on Icecrown for a bit over 6 months. With 1 or 2 attempts every day.(no boosting here).
I have aonly used the combo Diamond and abominable, and some times With the others from the same Family.
Any other comboes that will give higher odds?

I don't do too much in arctic because it's so expensive. My breeding times are all 4 hrs but different amounts of flames. Meteor 40, fossil 80 I think, abominable 80, just got blizzard with bedrock/abominable it was 120 flames. Now to work on rare types...

I finally got them all EXCEPT the 3 diamond hybrids. I have an extra diamond so I have been continually breeding Snowflake/Diamond. No luck. I get multiple Alpine fails now after it took forever to get my first one. The only other thing I'm doing is gradually getting all the dragons to epic just for the heck of it. I don't know why TL is making it so difficult to get the Arctic diamond hybrids.
