How can I add a link to my posts?

As I read through other forums, people have links to their posts. I see the link icon on the toolbar, so I clicked on it. Then, I typed the link and pressed
post. It totally cut out the link! Is there any solution to this problem. Thanks! :confused:

If your trying to post a link to another post, first click on the number of the post located on the right in the orange line at the top of the post you want to link to. You will notice that when you click this number that the link in the top of your browser will change for that page. Copy that new link and use the brackets around the word you want to create the link.

Example. Here (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?55445-Sleepy-Mr-Owl-Caption-Contest!&p=690383&viewfull=1#post690383) are the winners to last week's contest.

For the word "Here" I placed the brackets around that word to create the link to the post. Since you can't see the hidden code, I have taken a screen shot of what it looks like so you can see:

That's how I post a link to other thread. Don't know how to replace the whole think with a simple word though like the example above.
