It seems like most things in this game, it knows what you need, and gives you something entirely different just to spite you. LOL

It's too bad they can't implement a mix & match feature to come up with a combination that would be useful and priced right. The gems seem to be what is giving these packages different pricing (150 gems, $9.99, 30/50 gems, $0.99). The coins to me, like more advanced players, probably don't matter, even the gems to many may not matter, but many of us would pay to pick up an alicorn, and some fruit trees (our choice), or even some rare parts like an alicorn wing or horn, etc, etc. Mix and match to get to a $0.99 pack, or $4.99, or $9.99.

Heck, even throw the Valentine's edition back in the app store at $0.99, and they would make some sales just so folks could do a bit more there.

This is what's in my barrel too. I don't think I'm going to bite though. I don't need the coins and 100 gems isn't that enticing. I have an alicorn plus three horns so I'm content to wait for a wing for a second alicorn. Funny that we've all got such different barrels. My main game is on my ipad but on my iphone I don't even have a barrel.

Yeah, but who would buy gems every week just to use on energy. The alicorn is like a gift that keeps on giving. No additional money needed to be spent. It's been months since ive bought energy. I just leave the game and come back in a couple hours. They're cute too! Before I know it my three are ready to be used again. I just use them in different days.

It's still tempting. I didn't realise it was on a 7 day cycle (to be honest I wouldn't have bought it at ll if I'd known). As second one would mean I'd get a second energy boost for less than half price.

My husband got this today! For $9.99, he could buy an Alicorn, 100,000 coins, and 100 gems! The pop-up screen told him he could purchase this deal for 7 days, and it was for beginning players. He is not a beginning player -- he's been on Level 30 for months! He was able to purchase multiples, also.

I did not receive this wondrous gift!! I sent TL an email and asked about this, and asked them to let me have it! (They probably want​ to let me have it, as much as I complain!) lol...I guess we shall see what they say!

Yes tried full turn off and forced closed several times. Even tried to repurchased a couple of times. Just get the galloping knight screen then progress sign pointing to goals but nada. I thought I had bought a value pack, but I did not get anything. When I checked my itunes account I did not have a charge.

Check your Itunes account and see if the purchase went through. If it did, then send an email to support with a copy of your receipt.
If you did not get charged, then try restarting your device, then try to make the purchase again.

It's possible there isn't one for experienced players and this is something they'll introduce only to new players. They're just giving it to us older players because otherwise we'd not get a chance.

To stop the prompt to sign into iTunes, go into iTunes, log out and log back in. It worked for me.

The iTunes app on your device. Log out then in again and it should stop the password prompt each time you go into the game.

I've now tried to make this purchase several times, forced closed/deleted/reinstalled/etc numerous times and no package. DH, as a test, made a purchase in iTunes and we received the download and receipt within minutes. DH says there's a problem in MY game not in iTunes.

TL is it my deodorant you don't like? 5 months and no alicorn, carriage unicorn statue, etc, no flowering bush for master botany goal, no extra manti eggs, lost glimmer dust trove adventure...and now a value pack teasingly within my grasp And yet unable to download.:(. Unrequited game play is depressing.

I've also cleared out payment info and re imputted numerous times.

I've also cleared all cookies twice, which btw looses all your entry history searches in safari :mad:

If it was an overall TL issue purchasing the pack, then more members would be posting and having the same issues.

Thanks for sharing that. I think I'll inquire with Apple and try to get further details. The only thing I can think of is if in-app purchases go through the browser (api) for some reason. That would be completely stupid if so but best design vs. most economical aren't always a match. ;)

Go into your iTunes app, log out then back into your account. It worked for me with another TL game.

I'm in the exact same boat and it's really starting to piss me off. I believe this is a TL problem because of how they're trying to limit you to only one purchase per pack. Whatever method they're using seems to have caused this endless and incredibly annoying loop. I've never had this problem with any other apps, including games where you're limited to only one purchase of something. That right there tells me the problem is specific to TL.

After careful thought, I've decided I'm not buying my way out of waiting for an Alicorn horn, but the largest reason I'm not buying is I won't bless TL with $10 when they refuse to fix the glaring gem loss problem by creating a gem spend confirmation. Any pack gems would probably disappear on more stupid speedups like I had last night when my game didn't register my finger touch away from my castle to release the selection, and my subsequent touch on a tower next to it sped up a dumb Valentine adventure.

I probably wouldn't have done it, though, without the alicorn. Red petals are rare drops from from Patch of Tall Grass, Plant In A Log, Old Log, Bushes, Ferns, and Ivy's Hut. They are common drops from the Valentines plants, but if you started playing after the V-Day stuff was removed, you cannot get these plants.

Everyone having problems getting their items, force close your game, forced close your device. If that doesn't work, sync your phone. If that doesn't work delete your game and reinstall it. You won't lose your progress and you should get your items.

If Apple charged you for something you didn't get and you have a credit card attached to your account, you can dispute the charge through your credit card company. I have done that with other Internet things. Just a thought...

It seems that to get around the problems with these value packs, it may just be easier to drop the price on gems. The two current Barrel deals have the following:

Alicorn, 100 gems, 100k coins
Royal Manor, 30 gems, 15k coins

100k coins can be bought for 100 gems, 20k coins can be bought for 20 gems, so each gem is worth 1k coins. Alicorn can be bought for 600 gems, Royal Manor sells for 120 gems, so the total gem worth for these packages is:

Alicorn - 800 gems, $9.99 (1.25 cents / gem)
Royal Manor - 165 gems, $0.99 (0.6 cents / gem)

The current 'sale' for gems has these deals:

120 - 3.99 (3.3 cents / gem)
250 - 6.99 (2.8 cents / gem)
530 - 13.99 (2.64 cents / gem)
1400 - 34.99 (2.5 cents / gem)


So, the easiest way around this would be to drop the gem same prices further, using the 'best deal' price of 0.6 cents / gem, and offer a 165 gem package for $0.99, let folks buy the gems, and spend them as they wish.

I'm making the assumption that folks generally are not having an issue buying gems, people seem to do it all the time, and I'm not seeing the same outcry on gem purchases as with these other deals, so obviously something different is happening there.

As an aside, I was just assuming the Alicorn deal being offered was a better value than the 99 cent packs, apparently for the gem cost, it's actually twice as expensive, and should have been priced at 4.99 to be the same 'value'.

Yes, although for me it's in sterling so is 0.69pence. The first barrel was for the apple tree and gems and so on, and as soon as that vanished it was replaced by the royal manor offer, both at the same offer price and neither of which I will buy (see above). And yes, Cat Crack, mine also say for beginners to the game - which makes it all the more irritating when you're level 30!
