Faux Fur Box Question??

I had been saving my gems for quite some time and then decided to buy a Faux Fur Box for 24 gems. All I got was a floor light that I could have bought for 3 gems! Anyone have anything similar happen. I am quite upset about it as I did expect to get more. I am on an android phone and work a job that has me bored most of the day so I pass the time by playing this game. I thoroughly enjoy it but this soured me a little. Any advice welcome.

Thanks for the reply. I had made the assumption that one would receive something to the value of the cost. Silly me for making the assumption! Not wasting gems like that again!

I hadn't notice that the floor light is in a box too! That's so silly, no one would buy a box to get an item like this... I understand your confusion, when I started the game I spend accidentally my first gems for the fairytale box and got the frog prince. I still feel pity for those gems... The truth is that many times I want to open a box but I'm afraid for what I'll get..
