Build deep fryer question - 6.18.13

I just purchased a "deep fryer" in Restaurant Story, but I am unsure of how this thing is supposed to work. It has the "hammer" beside it, but I do not know how to "build it" so I can start to cook on it.

Please help!!!!

I think it needs parts to complete it. For example: knob, paint, screw, etc. You have to ask neighbors to send them to you. After you've collected all the parts, you can complete the build.

To build the appliance, tap in the upper left corner near the coin. Then tap in your restaurant to place it. You should see a box of tools that you can tap & then request parts from your nbrs to complete the building process.
Tapping anyway else for me just gives the popup message about building,
