Missing expanded land

I just expanded my land and now it's missing. It was open and decided to see how much it would cost for the next area (where the sneezing guy is). Suddenly it was the forest again, but it doesn't show it as a place I could expand to. The money and lanterns are gone. I shut down the game, came back and still gone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok....shut it down again and now the land is back. Not sure what was going on, just glad it's back
