View Full Version : Is this the end of the road for me?

I'm on level 30, with over 4000 RP and over 65000 XP, and today I expanded into the last area possible. Despite sending my knights out daily since mid-February I still have no alicorn wing, and despite crafting, growing, nurturing, cooking feasts and watering everything until I'm blue in the face the only T&T badge I have is the one everyone got for expanding into the new space. The only other challenge I have is to reach level 17 in Fashion Story, and that is just not going to happen. I had that challenge before, round Christmas time, and managed to reach the second level stated to get some gems from the baron, but the game drives me mad (and why give me the same game as a challenge anyway?). So I'm beginning to get just a teensy bit bored .... come on, TL, please give me a challenge which is not random and which has an achievable target before I chuck the iPad out of the window in sheer frustration! ... phew, glad I got that off my chest. Got to go now - got a Fangbeast to beat up!:)

All of those Purdy little frilly dresses are just what you need to ease your mind. Dress up your avatar and display those crystal shoes, then go back to chop some trees and water some mushrooms. You'll have he badges in no time.

For the alicorn, I found that doing the same adventure for three days time each, before going to another one helped with the parts needed.

Er ... not sure about the dresses, Baraze. I loath clothes and shoes unless they're old and comfy, worn with my trusty Doc Martins, and I don't possess a skirt or dress. Glitter never did it for me! I've done all the quests countless times over more than three months, with the bandits most popular simply because it's easiest to prepare. Haven't tried dark caves several times in a row due to needing wisp lanterns but now I can use my earth wisps for lumin essence I'll try that. Should have said before, I have four alicorn horns - just no wing.

Similar situation here. Level 30, over 67k exp, almost completed last trade expansion and have a number of buildings upgraded to level 5. Knights are worn out for searching daily since Feb for a mythical beast they no longer believe exists since they have only found a single wing. I think they would have revolted except for the addition of the sweet feast. Badges are another sore point. Still have only the one for expansion. No rhyme or reason for them.

Is this like midlife crisis thread? You sound just like me! :) I hope CS has more to offer pretty soon. Being stuck in Lv 30 is just getting too plain and boring. :P

You could be right. I turned 50 this year so I'm probably 'past-mid-life'! lol

Could not agree more. What is required to get badges? How is Knights Hall quest triggered? Come on TL and NO more tied in games like Pet Shop, Restaurant, Fashion- we have chosen to play Castle Story and NONE of those tedious games

That really makes me want to quit playing before I come to such a terrible pass.

Yep, I'm still here! I hated Pet Shop story, and the cross-breeding of different animals was really gross. I don't mind downloading other games and trying them - after all, I might like them - but I hate having to reach really high levels if I'm not intending to play long-term. Apart from anything else, most of these games (except the puzzle ones) mean you have to get neighbours. I have 60 or so neighbours in CS who I visit every day, and always respond to any requests immediately; I'm very loyal, and I hate taking on neighbours who may be playing for real when I have no intention of continuing the game. On Dragon Story I managed with just 5 neighbours, and left messages apologising to,all of them when I gave up the game!

I've been at level 30 for ages too. Must be the only game that seems to let you carry on playing, gathering XP and not level up anymore. What's going to happen when more levels are brought out? Are we going to suddenly go from level 30 to level 37 because our XP is that high. And then only have 3 more level ups because it ends at 40?! I love this game but TL need to listen to the people that play it, as we have a good knowledge about what is needed and what can be improved, as we play it daily. I also understand that updates take time and am very patient but this T&T task isn't the best update they've brought out

Pet shop story is a horrid game....encourages buying from a pet shop (puppy mills), breeding animals for money and even worse, crossbreeding mutts for money, and the worst, if a puppy gets "sick" (because you did not get back to the game quick enough) you have the option to abandon your sick puppy and breed another. That game makes me shudder!

Eew, I didn't know about the sick puppy part :( but yeah, that game turned my stomach. Played it to complete tge other game goals and deleted it the second I finished them.

I do enjoy the game; it's got character and creativity and there's obviously been a lot of thought put into various aspects of its creation. I think it's the most well thought out, original concept TL's got. The things that irk me... recently I'd decided my perspective needed changing- positivity is key. And hey, it's still in development! There'll be kinks to work out with any new product.

I'm not sure now. I was actually really excited about this new goal and it originally reinforced my positive outlook. But more randomness was... very disappointing. And the 'it's just a game' mentality won't fly. It's just a game? So is the NFL. So is the wii. This game requires a player's constant time diligent effort and, let's face it, money for full return. This is a product whose only value is in its ability to entertain. Customer satisfaction should be priority #1. I'm not convinced that it is.

And I'm not looking for easy street! That's boring! But randomness on top of randomness is boring and frustrating!

Try playing less. It works for me. No stress to complete goals. Random stuff will comes eventually so don't stress over it. By playing less, i find the game more interesting than before. LOL...maybe it just me.

I actually did decrease my playing time, believe it or not. But it's a bit depressing to think in order to enjoy this I have to stay away for a while. It's not unreasonable to expect fair and rewarding gameplay. But I do understand that the creators are trying. I wouldn't list my complaints if I didn't believe they were trying to improve the game. I'm sure gameplay of the finished product will have changed many times over by the time we get to that encased crown. I just wish we could have more concrete (great term, whoever used it first) goals, even if they are long-term, and less of the 'pluck a star from the sky' variety. Especially if they're long term.

I am also reaching the "bored now" portion of the game. Level 30, fully expanded, 5 buildings left to upgrade one or two levels, etc. so, I decided to scale back a bit and concentrate on filling up the storage unit. Instead of feeling completely manic over getting stuff done, I'm finding it much nicer to just relax and play slowly. Finding the Zen in the game, if you know what I mean. I think it's just a matter of changing your gaming strategy. I only have two badges and that's fine right now. They'll arrive when they do. In the meantime, I'll just chop wood and carry water. Wax on, wax off. :)

I enjoy playing CS but the alicorn and t&t goals have proven impossible to achieve and are very discouraging. I am wondering if team lava had been slipped a large dose of a cruel potion by a troll!

Patience is a virtue. I've been sending knights out on adventure from day 1 and just this week received both parts for the flying horse. Just do your thang and they will come.

I can't believe one of my favorites just quit due to lack of content. :( I am having a small crisis of my own. Really sad.

I only play once a day, usually each 'session' is about 30 minutes-2 hours, and I try to distribute my time with all of my games-not just Castle story. Currently I'm addicted to Restaurant story and Bakery story and Dragon story though. You should try playing those games as well!

Lol! Sounds like a textbook answer from one of the game developers. Everyone's playing style is different. I tried other games and did not like them much. Castle Story has been the only one that I've been playing regularly. As more of my neighbors leave, I grow less attached to the game and notice that I too have not much to do. People leaving are all level 30 players. You are still at low enough level where there are lots of things to do. Being stuck in Lv 30 for months and seeing people dropping out bum me out, especially today. :(
