Amount of coins needed to expand changes

I have been saving my coins to get 500,000 for the next level of expansion, and now that I got to that amount of coins, it mow says I need 1,000,000 instead of the 500,000 it said yesterday! I think this has happened to me before on previous levels. The amount needed increases before you can accumulate it!

I agree, this is misleading and annoying, and has happened before.

It happens with # of neighbors, too. It used to say 1 neighbor would get me an expansion, then 7, then 10, now I can't buy any expansions with any amount of neighbors.

Seems like the issue I'm having still happens. Why would I buy coins with real money when I'm not promised what the game says I'll get? The email bounces back as wrOng in the FAQ too.
