There is no way to earn gems in pet shop story. If you complete some of the beginner goals you will get some gems though.

Also, sometimes you will get a goal to download and play another TL game, when you do that you will get free gems.

Pet shop story does not reward gems upon mastery like other TL games.

Right, apart from that, the awards from the goals, or the coins earn from an expensive pet are super unreasonable low. You will get very low motivations on this game than other TL games. :(
