We?ve just introduced a new quest called Trials and Tribute. The trials are a series of tasks that even the mightiest of rulers cannot tackle in a day. Instead they stand as a distant goal, to be mastered little by little, day by day. Do you have what it takes to become the ultimate ruler? Collect all 10 badges to prove your worth and brag about it to all your neighboring kingdoms!

Adventurer?s Badge - Do you have what it takes to be a true Adventurer? Head to your King?s Keep or Queen?s Court to find out!
Brewer?s Badge - Don?t get caught in a sticky situation. Become a master brewer by knowing your way around the Potion Shop!
Chef?s Badge - Your Knights will get hungry. Earn their loyalty by keeping them well fed!
Artisan?s Badge - True artisans can build great monuments out of anything. Prove yourself by crafting an assortment of materials!
Farmer?s Badge - Wheat and corn are the basic staples needed to keep any Kingdom alive. Become a real farmer and harvest all sorts of healthy crops!
Nurturer?s Badge - Sometimes a kingdom needs a gentle touch in order to thrive. Tend to your plants and animals and show others how nurturing you can be!

Someone has reported this from watering mushrooms. I would think that other plants would count. Other players have confirmed watering and chopping trees work.

Hey everyone! Our creative Castle Story team crafted this set of trials for you all to figure out. It's meant to provide you with a long-term and challenging experience. We'll leave the popcorn for later, but we're definitely very interested in your feedback! :)


Ok I've asked whether or not the badges were random. They're not. There are specific tasks that need to be done, the tasks are the same but may be done in different ways (of a similar nature).


Time to clear this up before anyone gets confused:

Nurturer: Mushrooms, Fruit trees, Chopping trees, Flowers
Explorer: Randomly designated 'chunk', for old players the only choice is the new area
Artisan: High level workshop beams/blocks
Chef: High level kitchen feasts
Slayer: Any monster
Brewer: High level potions/glues
Trader: Not enough info, perhaps any trade
Adventurer: Not enough info, perhaps any adventure
Miner: Sparkling mines/Deep mines
Farmer: Not enough info, perhaps any crop


I just got my Artisan's Badge from collecting plain and simple Wooden Beams for making "a LOT of building materials".
So I think that you don't have to craft high level stuff. I think you need to craft/collect a certain number of things to get a badge. Although it is possible that high level stuff counts more.


After getting 7 badges, I think T and T is actually not random. There is a certain number you must hit for each badge. Those that get the badges initially most likely got it as the update is new and there are bugs which get iron out soon, thus explaining why after the first few days, no one get any badges until a few weeks later.

This is what I gather so far.

Explorer - need to have a certain number of expansion. Those that got it by expanding to the new expansion is because they have already hit the required number

Miner - Only sparkling mine and deep mine are counted

Slayer - All 3 types of monsters are counted

Chef - Only feast are counted (simple feast, hearty feast, spicy feast, sweet feasf and valentine feast)

Farmer - All crops are counted

Artisan - All beams and blocks are counted

Nurturer - Fruit trees, all plants, all choppings of trees and logs, all watering are counted

Brewer - Only adhesive are counted (simple glue, super glue, builder paste, architect paste, magic cement)

Trader - All trades are counted

Adventure - All adventures are counted

To be change when new information come in.


Why are there different skip cost - TL trials different amounts with different group

Same here. Almost immediately after receiving the trials challenge I beat off a glimmer troll but nothing registered under the 'vanquish a foe' trial. Also had no result from tending the cattle and hens. Very puzzled!

I got that too - a whole list of new trials. I think they will be Adventures for the Knights but I can't check because my Knights are currently off exploring dark caves.

I think TeamLava is just loading up. When the goal first popped up, there were only three goals. When I checked about 3 minutes later, the entire list appeared.

I agree about the artwork - way better than other games. Felt real anguish when I saw the expansion trial though, as I just today did the last expansion not requiring a trade expansion permit, and I've got 20 trades to go for my next! Oh well, it'll keep me busy ;)

One thing I don't like is the "new" requirement of having to build "X" when you already have it in inventory. I had seven Light Armors but STILL had to build a new one (same with concrete, E. Beam, and E. Block). Makes what we've been building between quests, goals, etc. kind of useless (at least in the immediate future).

Yeah I'm guessing one of each type of animal/plant needs to be tended, one of each crop has to be grown, etc. Some instructions would be nice...

For some mission, I will try to follow: 1. Adhesive art: magic cement
2. Feast for royal blood: Royal Sundae
3. Trial of the Adventurer: Search Ancient Cave
4. The Miner: rock the Dark Cave formation
5. Explorer: open up the last plot
And the other will try to do each type
We can pick different option and see the results. Hope to hear from others....

I think this could be it. I wish there was progress meter for each trial, instead of just 0/1. At least you would know if you were on the right track.

It's obvious that its asking us to do basic things like, harvest, make glue, feed animals, send knights on an adventure, etc. But even when I do any of them nothing takes. So ill sit still and wait for them to start working. I hope we figure out the use for the purple hide and the strange occurrences of getting a lot of energy from simple tasks.

That's the one I meant to write. The ones for Sabinas house. Just when my silver ore stockade was going back up again. Why do I feel someone will come here and say they finished he goal? Using gems because doing a bunch of different actions gave no head way. Gosh!

Hahaha, I thought Trial of The Brewer meant we were going to get to make beer in the kitchen. Was getting excited about starting my own microbrew "Dragon's Breathe IPA". Now I realize the goal is about glue :-(

I got the reward by expanding to the plot and have not expanded everywhere yet, so that's not the case :) Did take a restart though.

Read this and ran back to my kingdom to try it. First I visited 10 neighbors...nada. then forced closed...nada. Then went and visited 12 random people, popped hearts...nada. Then forced closed, counted to 25, restarted and...nada. Lastly, tried another 12 neighbors...nada.

Has this worked for anyone else and do you remember if it was with neighbors or random, how many visits, and did you have to pop hearts?

Do you have to expand to one of the new areas? A still have a couple cheap ones and am stocking up to expand to Sabina. I'd rather expand to one of those spots than one of the new ones if it triggers the badge, but I don't necessarily want to use gold and lanterns on one of those spots right now if it's not going to get me the badge.

Do you think maybe when you get your 10 energy for the day from visting neighbors that it may then complete. I know I have already gotten all mine this morning.

Odd... On my ipad there were 2 areas then the extra 1 disappeared but now on my iphone there is only 1 (just the northwest one)

Maaaannnn , i was keeping my last square locked so i could make permit. Now i had to expand to my last square , but the goal didnt register and then after that another square was available . 2 expansions for 1 goal :( and now i cant stock permit anymoreeeeeee :(((((( only have 1 extra permit left :(((( so sad :((((

Well, thanks to the good information on here, I expanded to the new area (although I did have 2 other areas I could've expanded to--one needing a permit, and one not requiring a permit) and I did get the explorer's badge. From what I can tell, that's been the only trial that anyone has passed yet. I have definitely been cooking, making glues, longswords, and tending crops and animals, but so far--nothing.

Last lantern will be ready in 2 1/2 hours then will do the expansion.
Working through the potion, workshop (except for decor pieces), and tinker items from the top down...just hit/started builders paste. Should get through every item by tomorrow.

I think unlock a trail is about doing how many times of certain kind of quest rather than trying something specific. when you have finished certain times of a type of quest,the trail will be unveiled. I unlocked the trail of explorer because I have explored many enough.

Explorer is not the first one. First one is to send your knights on adventure. So I don't think need to do it in sequence.

Crazy thought here...I noticed that with the badge expansion there was a plethora of wild plants and rocks and log. Usually I only get a few. Wonder if we need to chop and water those specific items?

I concur; I don't think doing one adventure or crafting one glue is going to unlock anything! It's so fun to puzzle thru! I'm starting from the bottom for example making glue then super glue on up the chain of " adhesives"

This pretty much says it all, long-term and challenging! I expect that the game is counting the number of things we do without letting us know how many times we must do certain tasks. So it could easily be 100 encounters before getting the Slayer badge, and harvesting 500 times to get the farming badge. I am completely fine with this since I am going to be playing CS regardless of available quests or not! Thank you for giving us one that provides a challenge! :)

Miner-Collect Golden Nugget
Artisan-Craft something in the Forge
Chef-Craft a feast in the kitchen
Adventurer-Go on Explore Dark Caves
Monster-Defeat a Glimmer troll

Maybe. Anything that fits in with exchanging or trading. But you don't really trade stuff with your neighbors, though, only exchange stuff. But then again, the Royal Exchange is also partially about exchanging too. I don't know. I'm going abroad this weekend, so I might not be able to play until Monday.

The Chef one might be make evey feast, or some number of feasts in total.

I think we will find out more tomorrow.

I do too think its all about the number of times u do certain task. e.g collecting form deep and sparkling mines number of times or making feasts (certain or all) again number of times. Like a counter, once u reach the specified number set for the goal u get to achieve it. Those who have already gotten the explorer trial, I guess they have already done so many explanations that reached the number set for that particular goal, hence they got it.

My opinion so far but I guess time will tell :cool:

I just expanded the left side of the land and it cleared the "Trial of Explorer" section. I think this area of expansion is new. I haven't seen it before.

Anyone got every rock from mines yet? Ie all the regular ones, plus golden and mithril... Could be the trigger, or clear each of the rock types, i havent had the energy to clear the big rock pile yet, but did the others.

So I have caved and invested in a golden trade. Got my tinkers camp without it but perhaps I have to for this next line of goals. Guessing it will not go satisfactorily. Will report back.

Expanded to the new plot- nothing happened. Tried force-closing, still nothing. I think there might be some random element to these trials. Or maybe different things will give you the badges depending on what 'skip' you have. Mine is 50 btw.
I like the challenge of these new goals, but I would like it if there were just a few more hints of what to do, so that you would know you were on the right path.

I have now tended to every flower (inc. valentines), tended to all mushrooms and grown all 9 trees to maturity with no badge received. My guess is it is some set number of 'tending' required, which must be more than 50.

I vote that the goals have a hidden counter, like a few people suggested. Also, is it a possibility that the requirements are slightly different for different devices? And nobody answered a question somebody posted that I'm curious about, the people who weren't fully expanded & got the badge, did you guys have only permit expansions left?

I should answer my own question. As long as you expand to the newest expansion, you will get the badge. I got it with many expansions that need and don't need permits left. I suspect those that didn't get it expand to the wrong spot.
