Mother's day is only a few days away so let's continue the celebration this week with a poetry contest! Find your rhyme and rhythm to show off your poetic chops. Write a very special poem to that very special mother in your life. Share your feelings and creativity with us for your chance to win Gems or Gold in the TeamLava game of your choice!

Here's my poem... Don't worry, the opinions in this poem are not my own. I am also not a dad. No offence to mothers out there. ;) Figured I'd put out some comedy...

Yawn

Well... it's mother's day.
But MY day is still a long way away.
I go out and I work all day long
But you just sit there and yawn.

Being like me isn't easy
It's much harder than being a mom.
This day is so cheesy
For all you do is yawn.

Flowers make me sneeze
But I can get rocks with ease.
Making breakfast is a pain,
I'd rather watch the highlights from last night's game!

I know, I know.
You do more than I think,
But why celebrate a day that uses up ink?
Maybe, just maybe, you will realize...

Dads deserve recognition,
For they do so muh more
Than sit in a chair
And yawn... for ever more.

Everyone has a mother, not every has a mom.
I am lucky to have one who is generous, caring, calm.

A mother gives you life,a mom gives life to your dreams.
She makes everything look possible, even when it's harder than it seems.

A woman can be "just a mother", but she cant be "just a mom";
a mom is a disciplinarian and a friend; a slave driver and a balm.

She's a cheuffer, a nanny, a secretary, a cook, a maid,
a teacher, a therapist, and a nurse; and does it all unpaid.

But by far her most important job is the one that lasts her whole life thru;
a mother's job is giving birth, a mom's job is loving you.

I'm lucky I've had a mom, and not just a mother.
And my mom is the best mom, the one unlike any other.

I was made to be a mother, but I've learned with time,
that the best thing I could be- is to be a mom like mine.
