Why have you made earning coins a pointless feature?

At least have only some of the boosts available for coins and others for gems :/ it really is silly to be able to earn coins when there is literally nothing to spend them on...will be deleting this game soon!

You should be able to purchase boosts with Coins at the beginning of some of the levels. Check out this thread (http://forums.teamlava.com/showthread.php?50025-What-are-coins-used-for) for more information.
