My expansions just became cheap and without meeding maps from friends, my bolder rocks dropped in price from 990,000 to 250,000 and so have all other trees. Antoine experiencing the same, or the opposite?

I just cleared a big tree on the largest island to the far right for 800,000. To expand it still cost me 990,000 less than two hours ago. Boo!

I am like a level 56, and it is on All islands - i immediately cleared the expensive ones on all, and started a new expansion.

Wow, I was surprised! No maps! Cost was same as I expected, 150K. I have a Fung stone which still costs 375K to remove. Same with Small Bitter Bark,30k; and Timberwood, 45K. So the change for me was the elimination of maps.

I am at Level 52. My cost to expand has risen predictably (120K, 125, 130, 135, 140) and now this one I just started, without maps, is 150K. It is on the lower island. The bits that I have scattered about that need to be cleared still cost the same as before.

Only got 11 spaces left to clear then I'm done, got enough friends that after I'm done waiting for the expansion to complete that I only need 20 - 30 maps, kinda stays that way everytime. Be nice if I see this change too, just spent 1 million and 64 maps yesterday to expand. Would be a nice, but un-needed, change.

My time to expand has an increase of (x) hours after (a number? 4-5) expansions. So, ... 12 hours, 16 hours and now 22 hours. This is my third expansion at 22 hours. Predictable.

Yeah these are the same costs I have. I'm actually not mad about this, I only feel bad for the newer players since it will be even harder for them to get going now. I was actually expecting a change like this, looking at the prices of the newest habitats. As players have said in other threads they seem to be tightening up the game economy. That said, the coin cap on the Mythic and Cosmic habitats are just unreasonably low for what they cost.

All my habitats are the old prices. I looked at the screen shot and for example my diamond is 100,000, my big purple is 180,000 and big green is still 15,000. BUt my foliage price also stayed the same too.

Yeah it seems like another random testing thing. I suppose in a few weeks the higher costs will come down or else everybody else's will go up.

They are making it difficult for new players to be able to buy things with coins. They need to substantially increase the habitat coin max if these prices stay high.

If there are any new players out there with lower foliage costs, start clearing everything possible before the price goes back up. If you have hab prices that went up too, hold off on buying a hab to see what will happen. Get rid of dups if you need hab space. Save as much coins as possible. Who knows what will happen next.

Bought gold and second nest to stash the problem child away, and perhaps buying gold is what TL had in mind doing it.The lower expansion costs are cool but collecting money for black / white/ pink habitats is total pain in the neck no w. I know you guys don't know me however I use to work in the gaming industry as the administrative coordinator for a large game testing company. I've worked with several gaming companies in the past and I'll be at E3 this year. To me these changes without explanation, are not acceptable. It creates an unfair advantage for some and major disadvantage for others as in some cases people are spending actual currency to purchase gold in order to complete certain quests. The beta testing of quests is one thing since obviously not everyone can participate but as a former alpha and beta tester I don't see ways to report the bugs easily or a way to tell a person they're participating in one and to report any bugs to the company. If it wasn't for the fact I was looking up some information on breeding dragons I honestly would never have known these forums existed. I guess I'm use to alpha and beta testing games in a different manner than on a mobile platform (I blame my kids on my dragon obsession because they wanted a game to play on my iPad while traveling, lol).

Here's what I'd like to see.

1. An official statement on why there are major differences in the costs.
2. When to expect a level playing field.
3. What to expect during a beta test such as reduction of costs or increases in costs.
4. How accounts are selected for beta testing and what's expected from those beta testing.
5. A subsection for those whose accounts are beta testing to report any major glitches or minor problems. Note: This would not be part of the main reporting bugs section since it would be specific to those beta testing.
6. An option to opt in or out of beta testing (since some people may not want to participate in a beta test while others may want to).

Judging from how TL handles these things so far:

1. No one knows how long, and no mod will be able to get a direct answer. When it happens it'll be without warning, it'll just be in another popup one day.
2. It could be some kind of experiment and might become permanent (or not?)

That being said I hope they keep it this way! Breeding dragons is time hard enough without having to gather so many maps just to put down more habitats.

Well, I think the ones who got increased habitat costs might have wanted to opt out of that... but in general beta means more bugs, and some people prefer to wait till things are out of beta to get them.

I am at level 94. My expansion time has been 3 days for quite a few levels. And expanding has been 1 million. Clearing after expansion however stayed the same.

Mine is I million coins too. Mind you I have millions of coins so it doesn't matter. 70 hours is a pain though and as of today I have to request maps so each expansion takes over a week. Still got about 20 expansions to go I think.

Sometimes though, you have to expand an expensive area ($800K tree) to get to the cheaper areas beside it, particularly on the top and far right islands.

70 hrs is the highest it goes. The cost will go to 500k next time then 1 million following right after.

Not for everyone. Just checked my level 48 island on IOS and it still needs 40 maps to expand. So this lower map amount could be level related. Expansions still cost 1 million.

I'm on kindle and it hit expand this morning and it asked for only 4 maps....same amount of time (21 hrs) and 200K in coins. I had 16 maps from previous requests so I was pleasantly surprised.

I didn't receive the last test with no maps was kinda reading over that thread and it didn't seem to last very long?

My prices for clearing obstacles have decreased too. Large bitter bark was $200,000 not $800,000. Mouldy boulder is $250,000 instead of $990,000. Shroom Stalk is only $13. Looks like everything is a quarter of the previous price.

My habitats are expensive too, but they might have changed that before. I have over $20 million now, so I don't really check prices for things very often.

Is this an implementation of the changes they tested on random people at the beginning of the thread, or more random testing?

A friend has just started playing and is really struggling to afford anything. After reading this thread and looking at the price increases on even the basic habitats I can understand why. Whilst not needing maps is a bonus for me, I don't think a change that makes it that much harder for new players is a good thing.

Yes Henry the habitats have increased on my account. Eg: Diamond is now 180K big black sands 3.6 million, big pink 650K, Mythic, cosmic, FT all stayed the same but the rest went up. Hopefully it will go back to normal when the test is finished, until then I'll expand as much as I can while trying to avoid buying habitats

My most recent expansion just finished too and my foliage prices went down as well so I decided to check my next expansion and it was also only 4 maps now. I didn't notice the price, but I also have habitat prices up as well. I'm not sure if it's related, but for me the change occurred at the same time as I got the goals for the quest outpost (although there's no actual quest outpost available).

yes, I got the fewer maps and now more expensive habitats.

Went to buy another large black sands and it now costs 3.6 million coins v. 2 million previously. I was not pleased to say the least.
