I think there should be quick match, this is where you can battle for fun without rewards, losing wait, winning wait or healing time. And ranked match where there is losing time, rewards, winning time and healing time. Mainly because people who don't want all this dragon stuff just want to have fun with it. It keeps them playing longer. Anyone with me?

Try fairy. They are strangely strong. I won after several loses with mind volt. Didn't put what I used here and don't remember but I think it was fairy.

My fairy is healing so I used a level 10 landworm since someone beat a mindvolt upthread with one. I won with bash/magic/bash. However, my win was not recorded in the quest book and I didn't get my pearl even after a reboot. My landworm is fine, but the arena reset to another six hours. :-/

I have a 1 hour battle waiting time and 6 hour healing time. I've played so much yesterday that most of my dragons are exhausted. I couldn't even breed for virtue dragon, as my light , fire ,love are awaiting healing. The 6 hour healing is way too long. It'll be more appropriate to put the healing time as 2 hours, so that game play can resume. Right now, I can only wait for healing to be over to continue my game.

It seems the lower level you are in the game brings out lower level TL dragons. My iPad game is level 40 and I haven't had to battle any dragons over level 7. But then I only have 2 level 10 dragons in that game. Most are level 7 or below.

I'm ipad2 level 53 and seem to get dragons at level 14 or higher. Don't understand how they can be that level and I can't. I can't level up any higher than 10. Just doesnt seem right to me when I'm so far below the opponent.

Try using a Pink Dragon against it, or a Fairy.

Dragons with the Fairy's base seem to be strong (Kite, Fairy, Mistmoth, not heard reports about Eclipse)

There were issues with the goals at the beginning, so your goals may not reflect your battle totals .
The goals should be working fine now.

mine is the same as yours - 12 hours healing (not sure what the gold is but it is alot) and 5000 per battle.

I have it and it is amazing! It makes an astronomically super improvement to dragon story. I think every island should get it!!

12 hour heal time pretty much stalls the whole idea of the arena. It doesn't work when you can battle every 6 hours. And making it 12 and 12 is too long. The long heal time takes your dragons out of other elements of the game, and makes the game less attractive. And the high gold prices to speed up healing are too much. Won't pay them, and consequently will play the arena less to keep my dragons in play for the rest of the game. With dragons that I don't have constantly being retired, I need to keep my breeding options open.

Ideally the arena would work best at three hours between battles and three hours to heal, or at most 4 hours for both. I lose way many more battles than win, so I wouldn't get to 99 pearls that quickly. I started with much better hours last week and then settled at the 6/12 combo. Don't like it.

I'm enjoying this feature but I really wish we could win other prizes as well. This would be a great way to get a few small pink or black stones for crafting. It is going to take forever to collect enough small pink stones to craft two large quartz stones & I'm sure it will be the same with onyx. Of course then it would take forever to collect enough leviathan stones as 99 is a lot to start with.

So I don't know exactly how, but I do wish TL would consider improving(IMO) the prize system a bit, before they do a full release of this feature. Others have probably mentioned this as well, but wanted to throw my two cents in.

I have 1 hour between battles win or lose and 6 hours healing time, which I really like because generally I lose more than I win so it gives me plenty of chances a day. As for the battles themselves I feel that the outcomes are currently just random. I've won 20 battles now and lost a bunch more and there doesn't seem to be a pattern. For me at least, I haven't found that particular elements are consistently weaker against others, nor that rarity or level has really made a difference in the outcome. I really like the battle arena and that it gives me something to do while waiting for dragons to breed and eggs to hatch. However, if the intention is for there to be some type of strategy involved in the battles I think there is still some things to work out. Besides that its a great new feature :)

I'll have to start recording my results so I can answer specifics, but for many of these tougher battles I've had very good luck at countering the colors of the other dragon and trying to at least match the rarity and then using magic in all 3 turns. Sometimes it appears like magic isn't going to be effective but all it takes is 1 out of 3 turns to be be "extra" effective to win the battle.

Some of the more effective magic attacks I've used have come from Passion, Cupid, and Peacock but it seems like almost any dragon has a decent magic attack as long as it's cast against other colors.

As you can see laserlight (white, Red) is pretty effective against green, green/yellow, and green/red .

I did lose one battle with Laserlight versus a higher level Life but guess the odds finally caught up with me.(got to be some randomness or it would take all the fun out of it). I tried using only magic in all 3 rounds to get some fairly consistant results. :)

If your asking what to use against a level 13 parakeet, I just beat him this morning and I used my level 10 zombie and used magic and ****ed him in one shot

Ok, I am a level 30, so I am limited on the dragons I have, but cannot seem to beat a level 5 bat dragon. What criteria do you take into consideration on what dragon to use and if you should start with magic or beat? I have lost twice so far, once with my lvl 6 aurora. I also have lvl 7 forrest, 7 mirage, 10 Life, 6 clown, 6 fairy, 6 familar, 6 4-leaf, 6 scarecrow, 6 cloud, and a 6 Wild. Plus some other smaller mostly common dragons and a couple more rare ones. I just need to learn how to figure out which one would be best to use. Thanks guys.

Strange. What attacks did you use with Laserlight... With straight magic attacks, I have yet to lose to any green/yellow dragon with Laserlight. Have you tried with your hopefully level 10 Fruitful if you no longer have a Laserlight level 10 to use?

Post 434 might help you determine a pattern.

My lower level island (41) with few epics gets lower level dragons, mainly level 7 and 8. Some higher but most lower. So it may depend on island level and level of available dragons as to what level opponent you get. My level 94 island gets 11's or higher routinely. FUN.

I've been having a lot of success using Crusader and and all bash attacks, especially on dragons I don't see listed in the thread. The combos here have been great though. The only one that didn't work for me was Fairy vs. Fireworks.

I see DragonTan1 lost with Life vs. Chocolate, but that combo worked for me (MBB).

I am pretty sure that they will only heal when placed in the spring, but I will double check on this to make sure.

Great Job! I still have 10 more to win with most of my dragons needing healing. Now I'm stuck healing whichever dragon I think can beat the next opponent so it tends to slow things down a lot. :-)

I understand why the opponent is a higher level. But, as Jake said when he introduced the game, level doesn't matter. So why is it always high levels we have to battle. (or higher then the dragons we may have). I always seem to get level 11 or higher. And I put my level 6's with them and my dragon wins sometimes.

Why not give us a variety of levels to battle against. (If level doesn't actually matter).?

I have another island and this one doesn't have high level dragons (well not that many) and those opponents are lower levels. So why on my main island do i get highest level opponents?

In the first post it says that level does matter

"Several factors determine the strength of your dragon, including level, rarity, colors, and opponent's colors. I'll leave it up to you to determine which color combinations are strongest against which!"

Also jake said in a post somewhere in the thread that levels higher than 10 were added for challenge

He kind of contradicted himself with this:

That's why I wrote what I wrote. On my main island I am level 94. My other island is 41.

I would like to see lower level opponents on my Level 94 island so I can use more of my lower level dragons.

If you haven't already tried, deleted your game, then reinstall it. It has worked in the past to get the spring into your market.

Do you mean goal book thing? It won't match. The goal came along after the game had already started so some of your pearls were earned before the goal began. Just keep playing and soon you will win 10 bouts and the goal will be accomplished. Its really the pearls that you want anyway.
