Purpose of popping neighbor kingdom hearts

Does anyone k ow the purpose or benefit of popping the hearts of your neighbors? Or what happens if/when they pop yours? Thanks in advance for info

It gives the building a little bonus when collecting, and it helps boost your social rating.

What's the point of visiting people?

The first time you visit a neighbour each day it gives you a bonus of 1 xp or $5 for each visit. Also a chance to get 1 energy (to a max of 10/day).

For anyone you visit, if you can help their buildings, when they collect they get 1 extra xp and an extra 20% to the rent. Hopefully they'll return the visit.

To add to the above, if you are [this close] to advancing to the next level, visiting your neighbors might just give you enough of an xp bump to get you over. Also, works well when the energy runs out.
