Mithril needed for forging Magic Scissors!

Does anyone have any idea where the Mithril comes from which is needed to make the scissors! I have tried Sir P, upgrading, mining every rock I could find to no avail! Two are needed for this quest and are available at 120 gems each...a tad excessive!

You're lucky to have completed the fourth shard quest. Not everyone has been able to get that so they have to rely on mining or sir pig to get it but its very rare.

Thanks for asking.. I have the same problem..playing for months already, doing dark caves almost daily, cashing piggy at least 8 times a day, hit away 4 dark cave formations last couple of days and not one single mithrill...

That's pretty much where I am. 1 Mitchell after months of playing (level 30) and I have to pay 120 gems to continue her quest line. I recently bought gems but that's a lot for one item. I still haven't paid for the Alicorn part for 120 gems. i use gems on goals but over a hundred for a part TL chose to make extremely rare???

I am trying to be strong (& stubborn) about this as well. I want to figure out a way to get the mithril! Have 1 (assuming it came from Sir P) so sent knights out to explore the dark caves, hoping for a dark cave formation. Thx to my generous neighbors, felt I could spare the wisps. Would love the 4th shard, of course, but I get a troll each time I collect, instead of the hoped-for shard. :(

I doubt so. If I am you, I will keep the mithril. Who knows if in future there will be other needs for it.

I hope you are right and it's like Golden Apple and not like Alicorn.
But I've found 3 golden apples, 1 horn and no mithrils (except for the Thurston quest when they did increase the rate for everyone).
Considering that I had much more chances for getting mithril than getting Alicorn, it seems the rate for mithril even lower than for Alicorn.

Golden apple and mithril are different. Without golden apple, at most we don't get Sir piggy. But without mithril, we will not be getting sabina, which means no sabina house, which means no talon jewel, which means no expansion, which means no manticore.

(P.S: scary how much information there is in the forum isn't it? I still haven't even expand to sabina but already knows everything that follows....)

For those lucky enough to have the fourth shard, what is the best way to get silver? I have found you get more drops using iron rich rock than normal rock, but are there any other ways?

Ive been playing daily for 5 months, 57000 xp, daily adventures, collect from piggy 6-10 times a day, just the 2 shards and no mithril yet.

I've just hacked away at 2 iron rich rock to get the iron ore needed and only received 1x silver on the 8th strike for each, thus only received 2 in total. So best bet for silver is the rock outcrops and mines I guess. I think you get some at the Royal Exchange from the very last trade (Belladonna?)
I don't like my chances of finding a Mithril any other way, therefore i'm going to craft one. 2 days seems like a long time for this to complete, but it will go quick enough. :) Sabina will just have to wait. I hope she doesn't pass out from that skunk essence in the mean time. :p

Dark cave formations are no guarantee of mithril and dark cave adventures are no guarantee of formations!! Not doing those since i have lots of expansions to do. Lucky for me I have the fourth shard and just have a few more jewels to deliver to get it going.

First you have to unlock the Tablet. Then you have to be lucky enough to get a Knowledge Shard when collecting from it. These shards are a very rare drop.

Last week read we need them for Sabines scissors but when i went to look for them, the was only one. Although very irritate decided to accept it (along with all the loss gems) and started to make the second one. Then yesterday I got the magic scissors goal and it said I needed TWO mithril. So I check my inventory (10x's!!!) and my last mithril is now gone! Not enough silver, so now having to chop rocks! Going to take me forever at 2 silver ore per rock cropping. I've started and restarted my game but the mithril is gone. Is there something else I can try?

I'm stuck on this goal I only have 3 shards so can't craft it! I'm level 30 being playing for months and months now.. I've been exploring dark caves everyday so using my wisps on this and not been expanding & yet still no mithrill in my inventory, I'm also still waiting for the wing for alicorn, I do understand that these items are rare but when you've been crafting and playing away daily & spending your own money on gems it does get a little frustrating... Also library books to upgrade wizard school, I have 2 level 5 library's and level 5 old Thomas' house and doing adventures daily and the drop rate for these is ridiculous it's going to take me months to get 50 of these and that's only to upgrade to level 4, I dread to think of the requirements for higher levels. All in all very frustrating when u seem to be waiting for to many items

I got 20 or so gems from completing sabina goals.. The goals where you read her poem... Every time you return the poem to Thomas you get 5 gems. It's the goals right before the magic scissors, which I'm now stuck on with only 1 mithril... So if you get at least that far, then you will earn some more gems.

I find it very disheartening that some players can craft what they need simply because they were lucky enough to get the fourth shard (thru no s**** of their own, just chance). In the meantime, those of us who do not have the fourth shard (thru no lack of our own, just chance) are held up at this point of the storyline until we can find mithril as we have no way to work to make it ourselves. I have had that stupid tablet of tabernum since before Thanksgiving and still only have two shards.

The randomness factor is a major wrench in the works, but I'm starting to play less to lessen my frustration. Lack of balance blows!

Granted, game flow isn't smooth, but their are still fun factors. Try to concentrate on those instead. Easier said than done, but what else is there to do?

Lol! For now i am just crafting stuff in the kitchens, workshops, forges, and potion shop.... And mining rocks for mithril. I just hope it doesn't take too long. I am okay with not right away, but if it is several weeks forget it. And i won't be purchasing it with gems :)

For those who can't craft mithril yet, save up your silver ores! After all of these new quest lines, my silver ore collection has depleted! I keep mining rocks and using the magic forge to get more, but it's a slow process.

Look in your inventory. If you have the 4th shard you will see a total of 4 .

Skunkupines love to come out when you're harvesting wheat and sugar cane. Sometimes I notice that they pop up when I'm chopping away at trees. Hope that helps!

Good luck with getting mithril everyone! I have one from a long time ago, sent my dumb knights on a last ditch caves adventure but all they found was a royal block and earth wisp so I am crafting the second mithril.

I have mined three dark cave formations that i had already, been on three dark cave missions -the knights are on another right now- no mithril and no new dark cave formations either!
We really need a way to get this for those of us who can't craft it. I always have about 70-80 silver on hand, even with making the new stuff, so i would happily craft it if given the ability to do so. I have been playing since October so it is quite ridiculous that mithril is THaT rare to the point where i didn't have ANY in my inventory since completing The Knight quest line. And i only got that because they adjusted the drop to be a guarantee after you got the quest for it. And that i still only have received two shards.
All i do now is waste wisps on lumin essence and i can't do any expanding. It is wisps and lumin essence all day, then check the adventure to find out that i did not get mithril or a formation. And i cannot advance in the quest line either, so i am a bit fed up right now. :)

If I craft the magic scissors WITHOUT clicking the CRAFT button on the Sabina quest, will it accept my scissors or am i going to do it again?

wow, I got shard no. 2, 3 and 4 within a couple of weeks. I didn't think I was going to get the 4th one, so I spent all my cash on upgrading and all my silver and jewels on stockpiling, it's been 55 hours since I saw that beautiful shiny shard tumble out of the tablet and I've still got 12 silver to go before completing alchemy and unlocking homemade mithril. Can't wait! I might just stay up all night chopping up rocks!

Afaik mines don't drops mithrils. At least that's not how i got them.
I have done Dark Cave quest every day and mined Dark Cave Formations whenever I got one.
I found the 2nd mithril in my 8th or 10th formation (not 10th chopping, 10th formation).

About shard, you need to keep collecting from the Tabernum 2 times every day... like a ritual.

And for the Alicorn, I have that too but that's just pure luck. The trick is the Dark Cave quest. Only focus on that.

I hear you man. Everyone seems to be getting shards like crazy and even my daughter got one yesterday. She plays way less than me. I cant even get one shard. Its driving me nuts! I even moved my tablet back to where it was and i hate it over there. Ive semi given up on sabina and just expanding now. Btw, my lvl 5 mine has not given any mithril in 2 weeks of mining it everytime it is available.

I believe CS is only released in sept last year so nope, you didn't play a year. Lol...
Anyway, tablet collection time is once every 16 hrs, so make sure you collect it every 16 hrs
Dark cave adventure is the only one that drop dark cave formation. You can do it once every 22 hrs.

Good luck in hunting the mithril. Don't give up, just like I still hold my breath for the alicorn parts.

If I had the 4th shard (which I don't have), I would have crafted Mithril by now because I've got plenty of silver, and that's down to my beauty-the Sparkling Mine. Every time I collect from it, I see a Silver Ore pop up from amidst all the other resources I get.

If you have completed the the quest for the 4th shard, you should have the recipe for mithril.

So it is at least a possibility to get it from a mine, although i havent been fortunate enough to get one lol! i dont think we were able to upgrade back in November so my thought is the mine doesnt have to be fully upgraded to get one.

This goal really rots. I've been playing for a long time (I think at least 6 months) and other than the one time I got mithril on a quest right after getting the Excalibam goal, I have NEVER gotten a mithril from anything, not mining, Sir P, quests, nothing. I have also NEVER gotten a dark cave formation. And I only have three shards (I DID get the fourth shard and completed the goal, but a connectivity error took it all away from me *sobs* I don't know if the game thinks I have it still or not). So basically, that means I'll have Sabina trapped in her hair forever and never finish this quest line or be able to expand to the birds nest thingy. I think this is really unfair of TL to make it so hard that it's essentially impossible for most people.

I started playing in the first few days and played a lot in the beginning, hit lvl 30 a long time ago.
I've still only got one shard from the Tablet. I've mined every dark cave formation, vast numbers of all the other mining resources ... and so on...
and I'm yet to see 1 mithril, let alone two.
Gonna be a long wait to see Sabina looking lovely!
I'm really glad for all this great info though, as after deleting and reinstalling my game to check for bugs in my quests I started worrying that I had insufficient Royal pts or needed to have one of these fancy items that require a lot of gems...good to know it's just a waiting game...good-ish... ;) My appreciation for all the work that goes into keeping these forums such a great resource.

Why do you want adamant? Is it actually used for anything?
I just bought my deep cave, the other mines have become poor, even rocks are seeming to give less jewels, maybe I'm just Using more.
I can't collect for 10 hours, did anyone get it sooner? How much is it giving?
Or should I not get excited?

Keep going, and every so often check your inventory (or the recipe in the forge). I got my mines the first day and started without any mithril in my inventory. Yesterday I noticed I had two when I went into the forge. I was mildly disappointed that I didn't actually get to see them drop.

Same here I have two from my lone deep mine which came too late, wasted 50 forging one now I am desperate for silver. Thankfully my second desert adventure gave one magic cement but each adventure costs 50 silver to prepare, way more than making one cement. Shan't be doing it again unless requirements are adjusted.

Have 1 (assuming it came from Sir P) so sent knights out to explore the dark caves, hoping for a dark cave formation. Thx to my generous neighbors, felt I could spare the wisps. Would love the 4th shard, of course, but I get a troll each time I collect, instead of the hoped-for shard. :(

I keep sending my knights out and mining everything I can but no luck. I have one mithril and only need one more. There she sits next to my two Alicorns. Sir Pig has given me lots of great things but no mithril...

I was very excited to get the bits together to forge the Magic Scissors. Started forging, and looked forward to having my scissors 2 hours later. Went to collect them, and realised it was 2 days! *sigh* #shouldlearntoread! :(
