The ways to get the Gold currency is via buying it, winning a contest, or getting it from a Gold.

To get the Gold Dragon, it is rarely obtained from breeding Diamond and a Yellow Dragon.

If you don't play any TL games you should have goals asking you to download and play them. It's a very fast way to get gold if you can't purchase any.

Also, try to use four color combos when trying for hybrids, that increases your chance of getting gold.
I was trying for pink hybrids and got diamond. ;) (alternative account)
