how do you breed a rare dragon in one color?

I know it's all mystery, how to breed just that one dragon!
But I wonder, there are rare dragons in just one color, for example the ruby dragon with two heads in red
It's not an hybrid, has only red, somdo you need two red dragons to breed it?
I tried and tried ( goes very quick, lol) but I always end with a normal fire dragon.
Who knows and what to share his experience?

I bred dawnrree on first attempt. I used lv 7 and lv 4. Hope that helps.

You cannot breed ruby or any of the gemstone dragons. They are crafted only and only on IOS.
