What does a neighbor visit do?

When I tap a heart what does my neighbor get? Why do some neighbors say I am full? Thanks in advance for any help

When the building is ready to collect and they collect from it they get 1 extra xp and 20% extra rent.

What happens when hearts are tapped on resource buildings? Are there extra or higher level items dropped?

Good question. I haven't paid attention. Mine won't be ready for collection before bed tonight to check.

how can I tell if I've visited a neighbor in a particular day & whether I was able to "heart" x5 ??

When you visit for the first time you get a bonus. If you've visited before you won't see the bonus. There's no cou get so you need to either manually keep track of hearts or just heart whatever you can see and hope you got them all over a couple of visits.
