What are coins used for?

Just wondering what coins are used for. That don't appear to have a use as all boosts are purchased with gems.

The coins can be used on the boosts you select before starting the session.

All the boosts are purchased for gems. I'm on level 53 and havn't had a boost for coins yet. Are some charged gems and others coins or are coin boosts only on very high levels?

The Coin boosts are only available before you start a level. Mid-game or end-game boosts can only be purchased with Gems.

Level 13 -3,300 coins, other boosts are gems
Level 42 -10,000 coins, other are gems

Im waiting for new "energy" to go to level 43...

no fair!!! I have precisely ZERO boosts before or during a game that are available with coins. I came here with the same question. I have earned coins but no where to spend them. I don't see myself playing this game much longer, totally stuck on level 25 even after using all gems I had on boosts. I used 3 boosts and still only got 84% ugh!

LOL Basically. This game showed so much potential too, it's a sad thing.
I'm playing this game b/c it was an in-game promotion in three of my other games.... but I don't see myself even reaching Area 10 for the other games' rewards b/c of this gem issue & forget about me continuing to play after the time has run out on those goals. I mean I'm doing my best not spending a single gem until I reach an impossible level (only spent gems once I think for extra matches) and I find the boosts almost insulting. For me, an iTouch user, Level 12 has the first available boost for free, after that all other boost are gems BEFORE a level (I've only reached Area 7 so idk after that), like some sort of sick joke they all are 15, 19, 19, 21gems for every level . If we got gems at least a little more regularly or the boost cost like 5 gems then I'd be like "okay, good challenge" but otherwise it's kind of ridiculous.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I also have the same problem in Bingo. Lots of coins and nothing to use them on. So dumb.

Whoa, the first boost has been changed on my game to gems too. Just yesterday it was coins! I never used the coin boosts anyway. I used one gem boost once accidentally and it did help me clear level 29. At least I made it to the tenth island already. I actually like this game better than bubble mania (impossible to beat some levels without boosts) and jewel mania (hate timed levels), but the force close instead of advancing levels bug and non-coin usage makes it considerably less appealing.

Just double checked - still all gem boosts in my game, haven't had any coin boosts available since Level 1!

Yep, same here. And I've got over a million coins in Jewel Mania--nowhere to use them, though. They should let us convert them to gold. Even if the exchange rate was huge--at least get something out of all the work done to earn them...

There is no use for coins, I finished all levels to get to island 10 without a single coin boost. But you can purchase extra coins.. It makes no sense at all!

I've been stuck on level 42 for almost two weeks now & BEFORE starting the level my purchase options are: 21 gems, 19 gems, 21 gems & 34 gems. No coins. If I can figure out how to get a picture to successfully show-up I will include it. Regardless I know that I'm about to delete the game, it's just not fun for me anymore.

You can buy power ups before the level starts, but usually those bonuses stink, and I hate buying bonuses before the level. Even though they're more expensive during the level, the only bonuses I ever bought were ones that I knew would absolutely guarantee a victory when I would otherwise likely lose (usually that was a free blender at the end of a mission. Good luck. Fruit Mania has some painful levels. After I got to the 10th island, I quit fast.

The coins are somewhat pointless. They can only be used for a few bonuses. And I mean like three. That's it. It sucks.

Would be cool if you could use your extreme amounts of coins for gems...

:eek: I have an iPhone and $900000 in coins...I've completed EVERY level, there's nothing to use coins on! It seems like you guys just want more and more money....please fix. I'd rather pay for a game once than be scammed by a "free" game

This is completely unacceptable! No use for coins, yet they want you to purchase them for money also. In the "real world" that would be fraud. It's been a couple of years now. What are you going to do to fix this Team Lava? It needs to be fixed NOW. Is there a game forum on the web that we can let people know that this company is committing fraud?

Ever since I've been on fruit mania there has never been boosts available to buy with coins, I think we should all take a vote that Storm re look at this otherwise we complain directly to Apple
