View Full Version : This might be a stupid question, but I just gotta ask!

How come the App Store lists 20gold for $.99, 42gold for $1.99 and 65gold for $2.99 as options in the 'Top in-app purchases, but there are no such options in the game itself??

hit the + sign next to your gold amount, this will take you to the place where you can get gold within the game :)

There used to be a 20 Gold for 69p offer and I think it's there incase TL wants to bring it back.

I hope they do, it's a nice mini little purchase.

TL do have random sales of gold and I have one on atm. It is giving a 30% discount and is offering 250 Gold for ?4.99, 530 Gold for ?9.99 and 1400 Gold for ?24.99. But sadly it is something that I am not going to do, in all of my games I am going to get to the end of it by my own playing, so it will take me longer but it is more of an achievement for me than buying my way there. Of course it does mean that I will miss out on a few of the seasonal Dragons :( but that is life, I do have a nice selection of seasonal ones already :)

Because those offers are for low level players.

I'm level 94 and I get 30% sales all the time, like 3 times a week.

Because those offers are for low level players.

I am on level 77 so would not consider myself as a low level player, I did read somewhere that the offers come regularly if you don't buy gold, but if you do they come less frequently, which makes sense. They are trying to entice more people to buy but if your already buying they are not going to make it cheaper for you.

Anyway s_lynne, did you find the way to get the gold from the game?

S_lynne is not asking about the gold sales available in the game, but is asking about low level gold available in the App Store. 20, 42, 65 gold for lower prices....

But looking at the prices quoted a much better deal to get the 250 gold for $4.99 on sale than the 65 gold for $2.99

I do understand that sometimes it's alot better to get gold when it's on sale. I just don't see why they would advertise something if its really not available. Isn't it false advertisement??

If anyone is curious/confused, here is the link to Dragon Story on iTunes:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragon-story/id513474544?mt=8

Top In-App Purchases

1. 120 Gold > $4.99
2. 250 Gold > $9.99
3. 20 Gold > $0.99
4. 530 Gold > $19.99
5. 120 Gold > $3.99
6. 530 Gold > $13.99
7. 250 Gold > $6.99
8. 1400 Gold > $34.99
9. 1400 Gold > $49.99
10. 250 Gold > $7.99

Notice all but 20 Gold is in top 10 more than once because sales (and prices?) are random...
so no, there is no false advertisement. TL staff has admitted sales are random numerous times.

The 99 c for 20 gold is an offer for lower levels

The prices for the gold could be in different currencies.

What has been asked could be read a few different ways (re-reading it now) When I put the prices in from my post #4 it was in GBP not USD so there is a price difference there because of the currency. Now that the sale is over I have the original options back from within the game and they are

20 - 0.69
120 - 2.99
250 - 6.99
530 - 13.99
1400 - 34.99

(in GBP)
So the 20 is there it just does not have the 42 & 65 options available, so perhaps hahadrago1998 is correct in that the offers of smaller amounts are for lower level players. I really don't know

What exactly is considered a "lower level player"? On my Note 2, I'm at lvl29 and the gold starts at 120 for $4.99.

I am guessing that the forum only has a US English language in its settings so won't show up the pound sign, hence me putting GBP on my second post with money on it.

I would of said that 29 is a lower level, correct me if I'm wrong but it only goes to 100 so at 29 you are 29% of the way to the top so ti speak, but if you are getting the gold at the same rate and amount through the in game purchase tuen tue level do not effect it.
