Introducing the Wizard School, the place to go when you need to pep up!

The Wizard School will be purchasable by players of all levels. By finding Spellbooks on Adventures and in Libraries (and perhaps even laying around Old Thomas' house!), the Wizard School is upgradeable to produce even more energy.

In addition to the new building, the Valentine's Day event is coming to an end with this update. As previously mentioned, if you have built the Love Shack and are already on the questline, you will be able to continue your progress. This change will mostly affect new players.

On the heels of this update, we are aiming to publish a major update on April 25th that may contain a new character and many goals. I will keep you posted. Delays are always a possibility, but it's our hope that with hard work, we will be able to have it ready.

Since you're on the Alicorn questline already, so you should be able to continue without a problem.

Sorry for the shorter-than-promised warning. If you have the Love Shack, all of the loot, animals and trees will still be available. If you're on the questline, you will still be able to complete it. Not much is being removed for players who are already doing the goals. It's just a way to "clean the game up" and keep it simple for newer players.

The Wizard School will be purchasable with Gems. As with the Royal Manor, we hope to (one day) make it available from Adventures as well- though there is no ETA or timeline for that at present.

I'm saving gems to buy v-animals because i thought it'll be removed. But like you said , if it stays then i'll save it for new building since it costs gems. Any chance you tell us the price ? :)

My guess is the wizzard school produces energy so obviously it'll be verry pricey.Look at the manor , it only gives you a few RP(from where i stand ,RP's pretty useless) and it already costs 120 gems. I have a bad feeling thinking about the price right now -.-

that's a good question. well at first i didn't notice how many i had. then it got to a point that i decided why not try to max it out. haha. but i guess i also thought perhaps there might be a need for them in the future and might as well have some in stock :) and since rainbow is there to stay once you unlock it, i wasn't in a rush to craft one.

I am discouraged. I have lost many gems to an accidental swipe. I was tempted to buy gems but decided against it because it's too easy to loose them accidentally. TL could fix that. But won't.

I feel your pain on that one. I try to be really careful and somehow I've been lucky and haven't lost any gems in the last couple of months. It is frustrating to be saving for something and poof a bunch of gems go bye bye. But I try not to let those get to me and I keep saving away. I decided long ago that tl is unlikely to change that feature- and since I can't do anything about it, I'm not going to let it ruin my fun. "If you can't change it, why worry about it. If you can change it, why worry about it!"

After working hard for tickets all day by sneaking into unused offices at my workplace for some quick farming to keep the exchange working almost 24 hours a day, and finally getting those lazy tinkers to start replenishing my building supplies, you aren't even going to let me have a breather? Given we can now get gems from the Royal Exchange I am not expecting a low gem count. 600 plus sounds about right to me, but perhaps I am being too pessimistic

Me too! I used to feed the baron all the time but since it uses bacon I need for the exchange the baron is going hungry from now on and my 180 gem bought black sheep sits in storage while my prime cuts are at 99 forever. Plus I'm pretty much maxed out on jewels and glimmerdust and superglue, which is pretty much all the baron ever gave me anyway. At least the gem trees enable us to craft gems in the exchange. Hoping the wizard school is <300 gems because that's about all I can get out of the exchange if I throw in all my golden items and apple pies/lemonade/orange cobbler.

There is a popup that that will take you to the marketplace, once you have bought it there is a conversation with the baron, then you get a goal to collect spell books

Mine only cost 120 gems so I snapped it up with a quickness in case they raise the rate. It takes 5 hours to collect (10 gems to speed up) and the 1st upgrade requires 6 simple glue, 6 fancy block, 25,000 coins and 10 spellbooks that you get from libraries or adventures. If you find 1 spellbook you get 500 coins as a goal reward or you can skip it for 5 gems.

What message are you getting? If it says something about you cant make the purchase, comtact itunes support, you will have to email them. I used to have that problem, before itunes fixed it.

Try going to settings- safari and clear the data. Then force close out the game.
Try going to settings- Store and log out of your itunes account, then log back in.
If he has changed his itunes account since downloading the game.
Delete the game and redownload it from the app store.

What's with the descrepancy on the gem pricing for the wizard school. I've seen screen shots with both 200 and 300 gems and someone else said theirs was only 120 (I've not seen a screen shot to prove that one though.). I was still on the VD edition so I thought if I changed back to the original that might help. Well theory busted... Can someone please explain why the difference in pricing? I've loved this game since I first downloaded it but this has rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm one of those at 300. I refuse to purchase it until the prices are fixed. (The best way to fix it is to make it 120 for everyone.) Does anyone on the TL staff know why it's different?

I built it, it quested me to find one book, i found it, it gave me coins and exp i think, and now theres no option to upgrade, nor a new quest on the book. Is this normal?

Actually, the extra energy is NOT limited to those who have been there since the beginning. There are people who have started over fresh on a new device that have the higher energy, as well as brand new people (like a personal friend of mine who only started mid-March).

When I asked why, the answer was that TL picks small test groups to have different energy caps. I'm guessing this more TL testing to see what happens, in the different energy/school cost combinations.

Two things.

One, TL knows they have a winner on their hands. You can play the CS for free without really spending any gems. After 6 months of hardworking on TL part, it's time for them to milk their cash cow. Thus gem buildings start to be released and I believe more will come.

Two, I am not sure why the gems differences for difference account but I think TL is trying to drive non paying players away to reduce server load. Mostly only people that buy gems can afford the school, especially two schools so that may be why the price difference.

I have a cap of 40 energy and am level 30, and I was under the impression that 40 was the limit to all lv 3 players? 😞 I just bought the wizard school, pretty disappointed with my 200 gem price but TL usually does the varied prices do different players even on other games, especially dragon story.

I do think that although there are gem buildings/decorations now, it's fair seeing as it is possible to earn gems through adventures/cow even without spending money... Don't give in and buy gems!

I been doing the gold trade getting my gems... And the purple cow give them out and so does the castle adventures ,,, i save enough gems to get the school ,,, i was saving for the unicorn,,, since i haven't gotten any parts,,, but thinking the school was the better investment,,,so yes it's possible to save gems get gems with out spending real money,,,, if i can do any body can do it ,,, hope this helps

Two things.

One, TL knows they have a winner on their hands. You can play the CS for free without really spending any gems. After 6 months of hardworking on TL part, it's time for them to milk their cash cow. Thus gem buildings start to be released and I believe more will come.

Two, I am not sure why the gems differences for difference account but I think TL is trying to drive non paying players away to reduce server load. Mostly only people that buy gems can afford the school, especially two schools so that may be why the price difference.


TL is not a charity, so I won't complain that they are are introducing coin buildings. Now that we can craft gems, even if you spend no money, you can eventually get there.

In my experience with TL games, it is pretty common to have different gem prices for new and highly desirable items. You can see this same discussion on other game forums. Sometimes they eventually settle on one price. At least in CS a player can craft gems and receive gems through quests.
And I don't think they are trying to drive away non gem players. My non gem buying friends just look at it as a challenge to play the game and never buy a gem.

But the drop rate for golden apple is pretty low , i know some people waiting months for 1 golden apple just to get sir piggy so how many golden trade do you think we can do ? Then the 2nd recipe - 2 apple pies, lemonade,orange cobbler = 60 fruit (60 energy), 12 sugar(60 energy on harvesting sugar cane) 4 flour(20 energy on harvesting wheat) 4 water and let's say 10 energy on collecting from kitchen. So ... :) approx. 150 energy for 1 gem. Let's say i'm gonna craft gems to buy wizard school with highest price - 300 gems . Then i'll need 300 x 150 = 45 000 energy :) we gain 1 energy every 3 minutes => 45000 x 3 = 135 000 minutes : 60 = 2250 HOURS YAYY . And let's say i'm an addicted player and i can play 10 hrs/day we have 2250:10 = 225 DAYS or worse if i could only play 6hrs/day that means 2250:6 = 375 days (over a year) =]]

Thanks for doing the math. Good thing for some help from bingo, solitaire... But yesterday after I earned 45 gems from solitaire I then lost 15 by an accidental speeding of a wisp lantern. I know in theory I can eventually save 300 but maybe not in reality with the gem traps.

Yes it takes a while, but factor in the gems from other games and it adds up. At the end of the day, TL is a for profit company and they are providing a free opton for the game. And, at the end of the day, you can still play the game without the wizard school. Will be interesting to see if it is tied into any of the quests in the next update. That woudl change things a bit.

I buy gems sometimes. It is like buying a few song downloads, in my opinion. I had to get the pink sheep before it was gone, for instance.

Now we can choose between buying a wizard shop or buying a coach for a similar price. I have to have that coach! The alchemy is against my religion. I don't have to put one into my kingdom so I won't. I am not offended by another person's desire to have it but for myself, I don't want one. I am glad to have a cathedral though.

Yes, I will buy gems on occasion for what I really want. I am really glad we can make gems by trading in other things. I don't care that it isn't easy, because it gives me something to do while making countless bricks and beams. I can't craft enough gems but I can come up with a portion of them and buy the rest.

I am only guessing, but I do wonder if it had something to do with so many people talking about how to ***** Solitaire to get the gems in 5 minutes or less. When TL does offer a reasonable way for us to get free gems, instead of that insane Jewel Mania that I will never make it through. It is disappointing, I agree, as I simply cannot get passed the timed levels, so Solitaire was a good option for those of us that live life at a slower pace.

We know they wont raise the energy. Until they do we cant complain if we purposefully collect from buildings that give energy, when WE know it will not go higher than 30 or 40.

Tinker camp isn't all that great just another way to build items and speed up the process. A lot of effort to get it but the thrill for me is already gone. I need to expand and can't and I'm already bored again

TL is doing a swell job of giving a diverse number of things to do. What's the hurry anyway? I'm just now getting to the point where my points reflect my level. Delayed gratification is a wonderful thing. I had just about enough tickets to get the camp but at the last minute decided to use them for expansion instead. Best decision I ever made.
The tension and eventual gratification begin again. I'm pretty much committed to the game- one last expansion and I'm set to wait for the next update. Now I'm using the kitchens for quests, doing quests for decorations, decorating, collecting from animals and crops for the exchange, and using the exchange to build up tickets and leveling buildings. Good times.

Use the regular as its the one that will get future updates/fixes.

Introducing the Wizard School, the place to go when you need to pep up!

The Wizard School will be purchasable by players of all levels. By finding Spellbooks on Adventures and in Libraries (and perhaps even laying around Old Thomas' house!), the Wizard School is upgradeable to produce even more energy.

In addition to the new building, the Valentine's Day event is coming to an end with this update. As previously mentioned, if you have built the Love Shack and are already on the questline, you will be able to continue your progress. This change will mostly affect new players.

On the heels of this update, we are aiming to publish a major update on April 25th that may contain a new character and many goals. I will keep you posted. Delays are always a possibility, but it's our hope that with hard work, we will be able to have it ready.

I too, have never received any Alicorn parts. However, uninstalling and reinstalling the traditional Castle Story game fixed the library issue of not dropping books. (I did so after a response from storm8 ticket was entered and addressed )

I also have yet to receive Alicorn parts despite my knight's daily questing in search of this mythical creature. Shouldn't be this hard to find a horn or wing with now over 60 quests.
