Which expansion should I choose?

I am trying to expand to get the magic garden. I have two choices at this point, one which encompasses the total top of the icon, and the other which progresses further into the base of the icon. (I have already expanded to the first base of the icon, and that obviously was not enough).

So which expansion should I choose first?
