Does spoiled food count towards mastering a recipe or must you serve the food?

You get some credit towards mastering when you start cooking the food. You get credit when you serve the food. For spoiled food, you get the credit for starting the food but for serving it.

For bakery story, its a little different. You don't get credit for starting to bake. You get all the credit for serving, so you get no credit for spoiled food.

Any idea how much credit you would get? Say I cook 20 stews but they all spoil, how much would that count towards mastery?
I'm going away for a week and I'm wondering if it would make a difference if I cooked a bunch of stew before I left, knowing that I wouldn't be able to serve it.

You get 3 chef hats for starting, 4 chef hats for serving. So you'll get a little less than half credit.

Thanks for the info. I guess partial credit is better than letting my ovens sit idle.
