Parentage

I'm fairly new to DS, so I apologise if this question has already been asked.
How do I find out who the parents are?
I have bred 2 Night dragons, (the first one I had to sell, I didn't have a habitat and I was a long way off from buying one) the second one, I had bought a habitat just in case.
Someone asked me how I bred the Night dragon, I honestly can't remember.
Is there somewhere I can find out who his parents were? Some of my dragons I can see the colour combos that were used, but not him.
Should I write down my breeding pairs, or is there a place in the game and/or forum to give me the exact parents? E.g. Level 10 .... With a Level 7......

I'm pretty sure you can not find out the parents if you didn't write them down.I write mine down on my wall on my island.I have my night dragon parents written down. My Storm8 ID is DragonLunatic

No. Unless you keep a log, there is no in game way of finding out exactly what dragons were used.

I keep a breeding journal. Put the name of the dragon I want, time of breeding, the combo I use and what are the outcomes. I find it useful to help others here too when they have a question about a dragon to breed and which combo worked.
Also, I guess I am a freak of organization with a good spoonful of ocd ;)

Most of the time I don't think it's the parentage. It's if luck is on your side.

I had wondered how some players here on the forum knew which dragons they'd used, a breeding journal would be a big help. I do enjoy reading about the different combos people use.
I think luck might play a part in what you end up with too.
