You get free gems directly from advertising goals on Android. According to TinksThots, you can also get free gems from iOS advertising goals, just in a roundabout way.

You need to complete the goals in order to unlock the popcorn maker appliance. Please go to this thread (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?54515-Restaurant-Update-July-3-2013-amp-Carnival-Goals) for all the goals information that you need. The 7 days mean that you still have 7 days more to complete all the goals and not 7 days left for that task. Do note that goals will expire much earlier than the timer stated in your goal clipboard. :)

I have a question regarding odds, specifically on the Magic Box. So I'm assuming that the odds of each of the prizes within a level are equal, that is, if there are two 2nd places prizes, and you have a 10% chance at getting a second place prize, you have a 5% chance at one of those prizes and a 5% chance at the other. So here:

There's no way to know. It's like this: You've got a bag of 100 marbles - 54 green, 35 red, 10 blue, and 1 silver. You reach blindfolded into that bag, and grab a marble. The odds of grabbing a green one are much larger than the odds of grabbing a red or blue one, and even larger still than the odds of grabbing that silver one, but you've still got that chance of getting it. Each time you reach into the bag, it contains the original 100 marbles, therefore your odds remain the same. That's how boxes work. :)
It's basically gambling, and hoping you get something you like if you don't get exactly what you were going for. Scroll the first page though, and make sure you like at least most of the prizes in a box before you choose to open it. Good luck! :D

i also got no repeats from this box, although i did only get 3rd & 4th place prizes (one of each!). i'm sure if i tried it again i'd get the repeats instead of the 2nd prizes i want though. but i didn't get a lot of repeats from magic box either (well, i got a lot of plants, but only 1 in each color). i think the boxes are pretty good at not repeating lower-ranked prizes until you buy a lot of them trying to get the higher prizes.

Has anyone else experienced issues with getting the exact same item from one of the boxes/chests? I've opened the new ice cream chest 3 times in a row (once yesterday & 2times today) and have gotten the exact same thing every time. Super frustrating and each time I try again, I think I won't get the same prize but it's happened 3 times already.. I, apprehensive to even try anymore. i've seen other people here complaining about it, so you're definitely not alone. i'd personally never had it happen before - i think every previous box i opened multiple times i got one each of the 3rd & 4th prizes before i started getting repeats - but got 2 waffle benches from the ice cream box in my 4 opens. i stopped buying it, though may try again once more. i really want that ice cream cone statue next to my ice cream truck!

Yes, you can open a box 12 times and get 12 of the same gifts. Nothing is guaranteed. Some have better luck than others.

And since I'm a total Broadway baby I tried a few other times and got a Chicagoan dancer (Chicago), a little redhead (Annie), a pride lion cub (The Lion King) and an autographed headshot. All those are 3rd or 4th prize. I still have quite a few gems saved up so I may try for some more later. I put my new Phantom out in my museum section if you want to see what he looks like.
