Dragon eggs and gems

So I know to breed certain dragon eggs you have to already have the dragons with those gems. However, if I don't already have those dragons of that gem color (black, white, purple, etc) because I can't afford to buy them how do I get them? I mean is it possible to breed for example a dragon with a new type of gem color even if one of the parents don't have it? I feel stuck in the game since I can't buy them. So I was hoping for a method of breeding that I was unaware of. Any ideas? Thanks.

Purple = Red + Blue
Pink = Red + White
Black = Blue + Purple
White = You have to buy this one, unless you can do Diamond + Diamond.

Also, right now there is the Amethyst dragon that uses purple, but the others don't have dragons to craft yet anyway.

And you have to buy a Light dragon (white) but then you can breed it to get the gems from its hybrids.

If only you could pay attention to the goal you got , im pretty sure it tell you what to do in order to get those dragons.
