question about visitors

Ok I have plenty of awsome neighbors who visit often to play with my animals. (Thanks everyone! ) my question is what is the benefit of this to me? Also is there something I am supposed to do once they have played with my animals? I see them flashing hearts but clicking on the animal doesn't see to do anything.

I'm so confused. Thanks to anyone who can help with what is probably a dumb question.

Hi when neighbours visit and play with your pets they automatically leave a random object in your pet shop. Once you click on it you receive an xp (1 experience ) hope this helps
