Just checked into the game and had a new goal for moon dragon. Black and white element dragon. First try I think I got a luck 17 hrs

I used Angel and Night and got 31 hour time so rushed it and had Moon. I thought I would use Angel because I still have not gotten Dark Angel so I was shooting for either one. Now back to trying for Dark Angel, going to change his name to money pit if I ever get one.

Second try: Light lvl 9 x Night lvl 7 = 31 hours - Moon! Yay!

Then, I threw my Superdragon (named Clark - lol) in the breeding den with the same Night dragon and got...44 HOURS!!! Woohoo!!! It's a good day on Dragon Story!

My first try for this Dragon turned out to be a Coral, I was hesitant to continue trying but after I saw people saying they got a Hypnotic fail I thought I would give it another try cause I needed that Dragon too. Second attempt, Hypnotic I was so happy. Third attempt, MOON!!!! I wanted this cool looking dragon SO bad. Overall got two Dragons I wanted so that's great.

LOL at this seriously!! Everytime I say I'm going to retire my night dragon a new dragon comes out and I do the "oooooooo...ahhhhhh...gotta have it" ... and my poor lil night dragon is probably traumatized from all the abuse. This one was actually my first Night hybrid. I used Night and Caesar. It wasn't that difficult for me.

Eventually got the ones I targeted (except Kite). But me too, I get most of my missing dragons from fails, lol.

Keep breding that pink and your going to see more tuskers than you know what to do with. I think I have thrown away at least 30 of them so far.

I tried 7 times with Hypnotic and Night and it got me all purple hybrids. So I went to plain Light and Night and got Moon on the third try with that combo. Total tries : 10. Long fails though.

Night + Virtue is a good suggestion.
I've been doing Night + Light for a while now with no success. Your combo allows me to also try for Goblin, Mask, and Super. Yes, there's more fails, but at least some of my "fails" may be dragons I don't have! haha

I seriously just got 31 hours on my breeding den! first time breeding night elf with light, this is seriously going to be my first light hybrid :) (never bothered with the light dragons till recently, wanted to get all the other rares and super rares of the other colors I had first

Ok so which dragons to use is probably not important as long as color combo is the same, but maybe there is an advantage in trying the "first try method" hmm....so many things in this game is controlled by rules we'll never know of....ah well, i'm happy just now anyway!:)

Congrats. That was one of the first black / light combos I got. I am still trying for Comet as well. Not a high priority. lol

I am considering giving up on the Moon dragon. I have been trying to breed it for over two months. Lots of winters, luck, manticore, penumbra and the occasional smoke but no moon. I'm breeding Light and Night, I've tried different combinations of different level dragons without luck. Can anyone give me any ideas or help with this?

There are only a few days left to breed a Moon Dragon and so far every time I try with Light & Night, I get a 10 hour Coral fail... I have a dozen and more. Any suggestions?

Light with a single black (Night, Lotus, Night Elf, Raven) is your best bet. It takes a while and many tries. Just keep plugging away as you'll need the Moon dragon for your Comet dragon quest.

@Ajcl01 Hmm, you might be right... Maybe it is just the quests as if the Moon Dragon disappears, so will have the quest from the quest post and the Comet, so maybe you are right.

I have tried breeding the moon dragon as long as I can remember and I am on level 107 and still for the life of me I can not breed this dragon. My night dragon keeps breeding blue not black. I have tried every pairing. I am on iOS. I would love to finish the quest if I had the moon dragon. Can I get some help please.

You just need to keep trying. I accidentally bred one after trying a LOT and giving up. I had a bingo to breed with a Night (black) so I used Light (white) just randomly...I had even forgotten about Moon being that combo since the last time I tried was in February. I just took him off the nest! I've found that when you give up on something and try for other things you get the one you wanted by accident ha ha.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time breeding this guy. :(

Moon is known to be a difficult one to breed for many folks, and his "rare" designation does not seem accurate, imho. He seems to be a super rare instead of a rare. In nearly 5 years of playing, I have only ever bred two Moons, and I use combos with both black and white in them quite often. He's an elusive little sucker.

The only thing I can think of that might help is to try using combinations with diamond dragons in them. Stuff like Diamond X Smoke (or Diamond X any black/white hybrid). Or even Angel X Night Elf, or Black Diamond X Light.
I tend to have better luck in breeding difficult or elusive hybrids when I use the Diamond Dragon or the Infinty Dragon as one of the parents.

My other tip is instead of directly targeting Moon by using only black X white, widen your breeding field and potential offspring list. Cast a larger, wider net. For example, pink usually splits into white and red, so trying for any pink/black hybrid has Moon as a possible "fail." Try for other dragons, just be sure to somehow also include both white and black in your breeding combos. This way, a Moon will pop out of your den eventually- but you won't feel like you are failing every time it doesn't. I hope that makes sense. :) When you are getting new-to-you dragons, and dragons you actually want instead of always getting the same handful of fails *over and over and over* it can reduce frustration levels immensely.

This is what I did to breed my first Diamond Dragon (after literally years of frustration over not being able to breed one and, at one point, quitting the game for 18 months due to the daily frustration): I made a "most wanted" list of breedable dragons, then I figured out which 2 of my dragons had several of those 'most wanted' and the Diamond Dragon as potential offspring. Moon was actually one of dragons on my list. My personal 'magic' breeding pair ended up being Hidden Gem X Neverending, which has about 100 possible outcomes/offspring. It took nearly 3 months of using only those two dragons in the breeding den to finally get my Diamond Dragon but, along the way, I also got like 10-12 of the dragons on my most wanted list (Sugar Skull, Quicksilver, Hunter, Winter Lily, Mask, Paradise, and more- all sorts of goodies). Those breeding victories made not getting the Diamond no big deal.
