Unreachable Skunkupine

There is a skunkupine right outside of my kingdom borders (making some of my kingdom grid inaccessible). Is this a glitch or am I forced to lose a piece of my kingdom until I expand there?

Update- this has resolved itself. The game wouldn't connect to the Internet for a few minutes and when I was able to get back in the skunkupine was gone.

When they appear out of bounds restarting the game works :)
