Anyway, let's sit back and watch the fun. Now we know why, after the recent update, Night started color-splitting when paired with Diamond, instead of just producing Night duplicates as it did before. Don't expect other diamond hybrids or black hybrids from this effort; a procession of purple-blues is more likely.

I hate this, I bred on my second island got it 23 hrs on 2nd try( I don't know night or the dark angel, lol) . But on my first island I got 12 hours -water, about 7-8 times. And still no 23 hrs :(

Most of us use gold to speed up breeding. I was talking about purchasing the dragon. Otherwise having the scratched out words would seem odd. Its no surprise that gold is used to hurry things along. Its a no duh, kind of thing. So yeah I asked if it was insinuated, because the dragon is there. Because we are here still whining about having a difficult time getting one.

All jokes aside, there will be a day when dragons take upwards of 400,000 servings to reach epic. I know its so we can have a challenge, but its insane how much they eat. And people ask if most of my dragons are under level 6 because I like them as babies and toddlers. Nope! They just cost too dang much.

Aww, I'm sorry it was night. Maybe this night will bring you better luck with other dark dragons. Some have bred more than one night and they used it and finally got a hybrid or two. If I was at 10k apples, i'd try it. But is am at 50K. I just used it once, got a charm. You should see my bracelet, all full of charms.

I'm so sorry you haven't gotten it yet!!! I've learned that for some reason my game doesn't like when I speed breed. It's almost like I have to go through a certain length of fail times in order to get the dragon I want and if I speed it up, I'll have to start all over again. I'm probably just being paranoid. Anyway, I really do hope your next 23 hours will be the Dark Angel!!!

The boosted breed is a ploy to see what percentage of us will use which method. When its released to all players, im wary my coin amount will be changed to gold or food. When I switched my android over to ios to see if ill have the new thingy, the boost cost 50000 apples there.

I dont recommend any player use this, unless you are a lower level player or someone with that one dragon who keeps slipping away. Ive not heard of one person getting an ultra rare using this.

Im still wrapping my head around why the colors split. It ruined a perfectly, already difficult format, of getting a diamond hybrid.

You are not the only one to spend that much. I have all but given up on this one. I can't figure out some get this on the first try and others end up spending way to much gold on a dragon and never get it. I for one will not and can't put any more money on this dragon. I don't think anyone has been tricked into using it. It's not the only option to use when you breed something. I chose to waste 50k worth of apples just to see what I came up with. A heart. Will I use it again? Nope, not until it has been fully explained.

We get where you are coming from. But the idea of the boost is to take a gamble. A feature involved in ALL teamlava games. Sometimes it may be worth the payoff, sometimes not. IF it worked all of the time, where does the thrill or fun of the game goes? I used it five times too. But with coins. I figured its useless, for me and stopped. As mentioned before, there is no guarantee and we dont have to use it.

Unicorn is even more of a pest now. I wanted two more of them, but no sir, I dont like them and their pink extensions anymore. Gold was easy because ill take two hour fails over anything else. It is done internally by TL. They will know one the dragon is hatch, it will be on the server. You don't need to do anything.

Just did my last attempt for this dragon before the end of contest... and it's another water. :-/
This is likely my last attempt at this dragon for a VERY long time, because this dragon is SO hard to breed!!! I have two accounts, one with two nests, the other with 3 & while I refuse to speed up an egg (unless it is right before bed or something) I did keep my nests full in both accounts for the length of the competition & no luck on either account, much to my disappointment.

I do wish they'd done what they did with virtue, initially when Unicorn dragon came out, making the black NOT split when combined with diamond to increase the chances of a successful outcome. I kept my hopes up as I still need Mercuryinine account & both Mercury & Anubis on the other, but alas, no luck here either. I did get my first TWO mistmoths on my phone, and a couple of Aether dragons, so at leat I should have enough trade-ins when the Amethyst dragon comes out... wondering if it'll be next released. I rather hope it is, or at least something ATTAINABLE. That dark angel certainly has fallen out of favor with me & it'll likely go to the bottom of my list, only to be attempted after I finally get myself a leopard. ;-)

Hope to have a chance soon to go for the Samurai dragon with the quest outpost.... *finger crossed*

I have changed the name of my island to HogwartsAcademy in honor of my double digit wizard breeding. (Formerly dracenwood, ID still dracenwood). I have 2 more wizard eggs in nests and another is still in the den. Today was my last try for this dragon. I have spent more than the price to purchase in the market. (Teamlava is not responsible for my choice to buy gold). This would have been months worth of breeding the same combination without success and I'm afraid that splitting the colors is going to cause a lot of frustration for people. From here on out any new diamond hybrid will be THIS hard.

If you think about it, the number of possibilities with this combination makes it very likely some will never get this one. I wish there were an actual formula or if there is that we knew what it was. Does anyone know what diamond splits to? There are still high level islands without a diamond. I think four color splits were bad enough.

I'm not a fan of the night dragon to begin with (i dont like the flippers. its a black water dragon with stars on it) i had hoped it would look more like the firestorm or even infinity. I do like hunter and moon but put my goblin, my illusion and tons of nights through the portal. I still have the deep but don't know for how long. So I may never get it just because I may not keep the night around much longer. Plus the feeding requirements are ridiculous unless they are going to boost the number of farms I can build.

My boost breed is 100,000 silver. I'm not really sure what it is supposed to do. I bred 3 wizards in a row with the regular method, used boost and got coral and water. I DID get a couple of dreams while using it for moon but did not feel it changed anything other than giving me a higher level fail. Lol

You'll get it. Believe me I felt the same way. I tried so many times and was convinced I'd never get it. I barely even got any Night fails. Then when I sped up the 23 hour breed and saw the egg pop into the nest I couldn't even believe it. I stared at it for several seconds before it sunk in. It is by far my proudest moment in this game. Her name is Brillia and she's adorable!!

I still cannot seem to get the dark angel. Did several more breeds and the usual purple dragons. I am going to keep trudging along but I think it is senseless on my part. Good luck I hope I hear somebody got it lately.

I got my second one just today. After beeing frustrated of trying to go for normal angel (and I?m giving up on that one), I bred diamond and night again to see if I could maybe get an anubis or mercury or something different. But I got a dark angel on the 1st try. Well, it?s actually a pretty one, but I seem to have real problems getting the white angel. :(

Oh, and of course it would be interesting to know when the contest results are going to be announced, normally they come out quickly, but this time LAVA is taking a LOT of time for this... and I could so desperately use some gold, lol!

I'm tired of 23 night. I want a dark angel. This thing is making me crazy. But I keep trying hoping for one. Lol

Has anybody got it whit another combo then night and diamond? All i get with that couple are wizards not even another light....

I wish I knew. After my last post I went back to it and two more 23 hours. I thought ok this is it. Well yes this was it I give up and in dark angel you won. I will never have you and I need to accept that. This is not right 23 night at least if it was different hour time you would know for sure. This way you get your hopes up to another fail. Team Lava do you honestly know what that does to people? I don't think you do. I have been playing this game for sometime and have never not been able to get a dragon especially speed breeding with gold I have spent enough. I have gotten nothing from it. The fails are even lousy. I have played this game from a ICU bed and it has never effected me I think if that were the case now I would be setting each and every machine they have on me off......I tried but don't want it to get to the point that I quit the game....
