Can't breed dragons created by crafting?

I was able to breed my ruby & emerald dragons, but now none of them show up as breed able. I've read people were getting rare dragons by using them. Did everyone loose the ability to breed with them?

It became unavailable in the Valentines version, but in the original they can breed fine.
