Ok, I wanted to see how much food you needed entirely, so I'll share my calculations which I hope are correct:
Level 1: 1 x 10 x 5= 50
Level 2: 4 x 10 x 5= 200
Level 3: 8 x 10 x 5= 400
Level 4: 20 x 10 x 5= 1,000
Level 5: 50 x 10 x 5= 2,500
Level 6: 100 x 10 x 5= 5,000
Level 7: 240 x 10 x 5= 12,000
Level 8: 500 x 10 x 5= 25,000
Level 9: 1000 x 10 x 5= 50,000

All Food Costs Added Together: 96,150

Yep, not gonna grow that much in time.

Actually im preparing materials for quartz , i think this one will be the hardest gemstone dragon to get since there's no super rare pink hybrid and pink hybrids are quite hard to get , virtue takes so long (33 hrs). Pearl and Amethyst will be easy =]]

I get pink jewels from trading pink dragons. I dont think super rare will help more or less. But what do I know?! This will be craftable for sure. I havent even put my Sapphire in the evolution den. Been so busy fighting with the other dragons.

Of course it'll help. So far we know that all crafted dragons need LARGE gems and 1 large gem = 10 small gems.

Lol I know you wouldn't for that reason, but at the moment t would be too hard for most people. I'm going to start saving up quartz after the new dragon this Thursday. I really think there will be a breedable dragon also.

Yeah that's the other thing. I think they are going to raise the cap this week or early next week. Now that they probably got all the money they can get of their over priced purple habitats they will raise the cap soon

Let's hope so. A lot of people are running out of room way too fast - for example, Nora has her 4 nests occupied with different dragons (diamond, tiny, chocolate, unicorn - awesome combo!), but she can't place them all. Lol.

Well I have 1 large topaz and 5 small topaz, so back to breeding for topaz gems and not diamond hybrids, which is just as well I finally have an angel dragon breeding :)

Aww this will be my fav gemstone dragon so far. I do think a habitat increase is imminent also tho since I believe we are at cap or very near. I have 7 copies at the moment but I also have the upgraded habitats to counter balance that and I'll be full once I add my basic element dragons back.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it!
It's a lot more organic in appearance than the other stone drags. Many people complained that they looked too much like robots or transformers. I rather liked their unnatural appearance; immediately recognizable for what they are. But this Topaz is a class apart - exquisitely gorgeous!

I get the hole Craftiable part of this Dragon. I do see it in my Market (Android). Since I'm not keen on buying Gold It will just have to wait. What I dont get is why Did they offer it to the Android AND have a sign on screen with a new Contest. Breed or Buy it and Get an Entry.. What is up with that??

Just my opinion, but I question whether or not TL really wants Androids playing and they're hoping some Android is going to pay that much gold for it. I would HOPE they wouldn't, but I'm sure there are those that will. I don't accept the idea that Androids will get trading and such "eventually". I don't really believe that we will. Why should they give it to us, if there are those who will over pay for habitats and decor and then turn around and pay an obnoxious amount of gold for a dragon that's not mean for us anyway. As I've posted before ... I won't hold my breath for Android to receive the update, because my favorite color isn't blue and I seriously doubt we'll get it, but will only be tossed a crumb now and then to make us be quiet for a while.

If that's the case (not knowing as I can't craft a topaz dragon on Android just yet) then TL has really lost their mind. Unless you have a TON of food saved up, it seems they are trying to force people to spend gold on food in order to be able to get enough food for a SINGLE Topaz dragon, never mind however many you might try to craft for this contest. *sigh* the money grabbing never ends.

This has happened before. At one point the light dragons took like 135k food to get to level 10. Everyone complained so they lowered the food costs. It was still a lot of food but no one complained because it was better than before. I think they might be doing this again. They will make the food increase ridiculous and then lower it again so you can't complain

Ok, this food cost increase is getting ridiculous. First the Caesar Dragon, now this. It sucked when the Light Dragons came out, but we got upgraded farms with more food. Now, unless we get more food again, these prices are completely unfair. They're increased with no reason or explanation.

I've had my food stock around 230,000 apples.

...maybe that's a bad sign. Haven't been breeding anything new (aside from the Heart dragons which still aren't at epic level).

I have 94,731 apples right now.i have been saving these for a while since firework came out because I had a feeling one of those sweepstakes contests came out. I tried to get all my dragons lvl 4 or higher so they can get me some money to buy food.

Yah,don't the food prices seem a bit over the top? (AGAIN!!) I've noticed that while feeding dragons in my boyfriend's android game. (I don't really notice how much I'm feeding in mine...maybe I should play attention). This is ridiculous!

I dont know how ill get this one fed. Since i got my diamonds and their hybrids, id been at around 3 to 4 millions for the past few weeks. Making food every hour for the chocolate dragon and expanding put me at 500,000 for the first time. I was so shocked. Im back at 3 million again and cant imagine making enough food for this one.

I fail to see why a dragon that yields little coins should eat so much food. Reminds me of a teenager still living at home, doesnt cook, work or clean, but costs so much money from eating all the food in the house. Boo!

My little feline is evolving to adult now, and I'm about to get hit hard in the face with ridiculous food costs x3

Although as long as I still blast Diamondates out the farm, I'll hopefully manage to evolve it to Epic in time.
