Did anyone get a book from the library for the goal "the letter, part 3" ?
i collected five time from my level 5 library and no book. You need five books!
Thinking of building a second library.

Your building needs to be upgraded to level 5. I did get 4 in a row, but the last one took more tries.

Mines is level two and it took collecting two or three times to get the first book. With the collection taking 16 hours this will be a long goal to finish.

I do not know if this made a difference in getting the books, but when I got 4 in a row, I was also collecting from Thomas's
house everytime it came up.
Then after my fourth book, I did not collect from Thomas's house inbetween, then I did not get the 5th book for a couple of library cycles. I then started collecting from Thomas's house again every time it came up, then I finally got the 5th book when my library cycled around.

Took me little less than a day to get all-from 2 libraries.dont use gem to skip goal-the rainbow is tiny and doesn't even give coins-completely useless

I have collected all 5 books and completed that quest, but I still do not have the rainbow unlocked. Is there a quest after you find 5 books? If so, how do you unlock it?

I finished his goal too. But with gems. I was too impatient with the slow book drop rate. So mad it didnt give the rainbow. Im slow, what is "GD?".

Oh Boo! i wish id seen this before id skipped. Oh well, book to preparing meals for the adventures.

I have collected three times from level 5 library and haven't received a single book. I guess this goal is gonna be a long run for me. But since I am still nowhere in the middle of the botany goal and I don't think I am gonna finish the Alicorn goal anytime soon, I am not desperate to finish the book quest very fast.

GD = glimmer dust. 50 GD is the last thing you need to send to greedy agnes or whatever her name is. After that, i think i got a letter to unlock the rainbow while chopping the tree.

I ended up being 5 for 7 on collecting the 5 rare books. It looks like the higher level Libraries drop the books appreciably faster.

Got all my books you ha e to be level 5 to get the books and its about every other collection time you get a book

My library is level 4 and got 1 book after 5 tries. I think I need to level up to level 5 but no jewels.

I've gotten 3 books with my 2 level three libraries. I always collect from Thomas's house right before I collect from the libraries. I didn't get any books before that and got 3 within the last few days (other account)

That's what I did. I built a second Library and took it straight to Level 5. I then had 2 libraries working for me.
I got all 5 books in a little over 24 hours. If I didn't have the second Library it would have taken at least 40 hours to complete (5 x 8 hours). :)
Anyway that's what I did yesterday and today, now, I'm crafting my Pink Rainbow. :D

I know we are supposed to get them from library, but does upgrading the library actually improves my chances? What do you guys think?

It took me over a week (collecting as frequently as possible) to get the 5 books from a level 5 library... it's just luck, I guess?
