I was stung on the arm by a jellyfish almost a decade ago. It hurt and I was far from the boat and had to swim with it.

My dad put meat tenderizer on it I think. At least it wasn't urine.

Hubby was stung bad. Toxin went to his chest and he collapsed and had respiratory distress. Ambulance to creepy Mexican hospital. $4000.00 later all was ok.

I dont harbor any ill will towards the offending jellyfish. He was just being a jellyfish. We were guests in his home.

Last family get together at Waimanalo Beach Oahu we all got stung by man-o-wars almost every day. I had red ******s on my arms n legs for weeks.

Also last summer hundreds of big (a foot across) red jellies washed up on the beaches in San Diego. The dog wouldn't go near. Smart puppy. They stained the sand purplish red when they melted in the sun.

I was snorkeling in St. Thomas as a kid. Took my head out of water and was swimming towards shore. Decided to put my head back in and a few feet away was a white jellyfish with a blue tinge around it (beautiful). If I hadn't put my head back in I would have swam right into it. That's the closest I've come to almost getting stung.

It is. It's a lions mane jellyfish. Their body can be 7 feet across and their tentacles can be 120 feet long.

There's another kind of jellyfish that lives near Japan's coasts somewhere called a nomoras jellyfish or something. Idk

Are you sure? All of them are special needs. They all have, or had, a medical problem when i adopted them. Can get a bit pricey.

That was my problem. I worked full time at the Humane Society for 5 years. Because of me my Mom has 4 cats, my sister has 4 cats, and my other sister has 3 cats.

Thanks Pinkster....they are good boys...and too funny when they play together....your 6 babies are adorable....if I could I would have another 6 kitties....Dexter was a special needs kitty also and we rescued him from the shelter...he has a problem with his immunity system...he's got Pemphigus...

And Kyro has obvious special needs....he's is need of a sweater ...especially is this bitter Canadian weather. :)
