Are there any ways to earn hold within the game? Or like for downloading their other games?

Yes... you have to have the "Goal" in that particular game to get the gold for it.

Promotional goals go out to random games. (You may get some of these for the games you have never downloaded before)

TL may provide opportunities to try out their other games but they do not have Quests/Goals that reward gold , for downloading or playing other games (IOS devices).
There are other Goals that do have these rewards, but there are not rewards for the Goals you mentioned.
