T'was the night before Christmas and all through the pen's
not a dragon was stirring they're all in there dens.
There Extra large stockings are hung up with care,
in hopes of some gifts their neighbors would share.
The dragons all nestled all snug in their beds,
whilst visions of cookies flew through their heads.
The caretakers had all finished doing there work,
and shacked in their cabin's till Jan 1st.
When out on the islands there arose such a clatter,
they came out to see just what was the matter.
Away down the pathways they flew like a flash
checking the pens and counting the cash.
The sunrise dragons gave the islands a glow
giving the luster of mid-day to dragons below.
When what to their wandering eyes should appear,
but a gigantic sleigh and eight epic dragons of cheer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
Thy knew in a moment it must be St George the sixth
More rapid than eagle dragons his courses they came.
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name!
Now Diamond! now Titan! now, infinity and gold
On Griffin, on love Ruby and emerald
To the top of the cliff, to the top of the pen
now dash away dash away to the den
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the den-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St George the 6th too.
And then, in a twinkling, thy heard on the den
The prancing and pawing that sounded like ten men.
And there they all stood flapping around,
and down in the den St George came with a bound.
He was dressed all in scales, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of stuff he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll massive mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a man's leg he held tight in his teeth,
And puffs of smoke circled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he growled, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly epic elf,
And they laughed when thy saw him, the spiteful of elf!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know they had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled up the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
gave them all cookies, as up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to that sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ?ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and dragons good-night!"
Idle mind i tell you... lol
