Problem with The 7th Day of Christmas Goal

I bought Swans wallpaper before the goal showed up. It is impossible to complete the goal because I have no more walls to buy the wallpaper for. Is it possible to make previously purchased Swan wallpaper count towards the goal? It doesn't seem fair to everyone who has this problem.
