Thanks for the feedback everyone! The problem is, I can't find the menu button. All I see is my bakery with cash register, 3 counters, 3 tables & chairs, a cook book and what seems like an oven. There are some numbers on the top left corner but i dont know what that means either... I'm wondering if maybe I installed it incorrectly...

when i first started playing, there wasn't a menu either. Realised it's because the game hanged in the 'tutorial' stage, when u're supposed to follow the arrows to get used to the controls. After i restarted, the menu appeared on the bootm right hand corner, hope it helps.

I didn't get much help when I first started and didn't know about this forum. So you are fortunate to have found this.

1. Don't be in a hurry to decorate your bakery. Just like a real business, you should re-invest in product and equipment so you can make money and expand your business.

2. Always try to have something in your ovens and drink makers. As you increase your level, you will be able to prepare more products that pay more than the items you now have available. You can make more money with ovens than drink makers. Empty ovens and drink makers don't make money.

3. You only need as many serving tables as you have products to sell. The extra tables only take up space. You can always store any extra tables and recall them when needed. Don't sell anything, you might need it or want it later.

4. Try to find 4 star neighbors that will add you. Keep your own star rating at 4 so others will be willing to add you. You maintain a 4 star rating by tipping and gifting your neighbors often. You have to visit their bakery to tip, but you can gift from your own bakery.

5. There are five gifts, each have a different number of plates and each plate sells for a different amount. This may seem confusing at first, it has been difficult to convince some neighbors, but here it is:

Gift .................... Plates ...... @ Sells ....... Yields
Brownies ............. 200 .............. 1 ......... 200 coins
Chocolate Cake .... 150 .............. 2 ......... 300 coins
Croissant ............. 100 .............. 4 ......... 400 coins
Cappuccino ............ 50 ............. 10 ........ 500 coins
Hot Chocolate ....... 100 .............. 4 ......... 400 coins

There is no reason to give anything other than cappuccino.

Some will argue that some items take longer to make, but these are all gifts and take exactly the same amount of time... 0 sec. You don't have to make any of these items

Anyway, savvy neighbors will understand this and you don't need neighbors that don't.

6. Try to keep your neighbor list down to those that tip and gift often. You will find that some quit playing or never return the favor of tips or gifts. The longer your list, the longer it take to visit them. Value your time and your neighbors.

7. You can block the door to your bakery with anything and it will keep customers from coming into your bakery. Just remember that if they aren't there, they can't buy anything. You can't make money that way.

8. Try not to use the gems you get by mastering as many products as you can. It sometimes sets you up to use your gems to instantly prepare items, but it is never worth it, let them go bad and throw them in the trash. You can always remake them, it just takes a bit more time. The game is designed to trick you into using your gems.

9. Expand the size of your farm as soon as you can including buying ovens and drink makers. Expand the size of your bakery as soon as you can. The larger your bakery, the more tables you can have. The more tables, the more tips you can receive. Each tip = 20 coins. Each neighbor can tip up to 6X which equals 120 coins. If they gift cappuccino that is 500 coins plus the tips = 720 coins. You can get 20 gifts per day = 14400 coins. You can be tipped an unlimited number of times (twice per neighbor) but visitors can tip 3 times each. Bottom line, make room for those tips.

Here is the expansion costs as I remember them:

12 X 15 500,000 coins or 40 gems
13 X 16 1,000,000 coins or 40 gems
14 X 17 2,000,000 coins or 40 gems
15 X 18 3,000,000 coins or 40 gems
16 X 19 4,000,000 coins or 40 gems
17 X 20 5,000,000 coins or 40 gems

If you look at the time column and find the amount of time you expect to be away, you can see what to prepare. The closer to the to of the chart, the greater the return in coins. Once you reach the level that allows all these products, you will find it a wast of time preparing those with the lower return.

ie: if you had 16 hours and wanted something to be prepared while you are away you could bake Lemon Merangue Pie or Banana Bread. Banana Bread will net you 6,310 coins and 110 XP, while Lemon Merangue Pie will net you 10,540 coins and 138 XP. Why bake Banana Bread? The same hold true for Hot Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate. Why prepare Hot Chocolate?

This also depends on your goals in playing the game.

Place these figures in a spreadsheet and you can then sort by XP, if that is in what you are more interested.

The figures in the last four columns are for gifts. Not everything is available as a gift. The last column represent the total number of coins you would earn if all 20 of your gifts were all the same type.

logon2k thank you for the information and the time you spent to type it out. I have been playing for 4 days myself so it is helpful to see things written out.

I have a question, do we have a max number of neighbors we can add?

I also have a few things to add that were helpful for me:

1. Extra xp, gems & coins - When you select something from your cookbook at the bottom of each recipe there is a bar with a chef's hat. The bar keeps track of the chef points you have gotten for each item and will display a number between 1 and 4, 4 is the highest level possible. Completing these has been helpful in acquiring extra xp and coins, at level 4 you get 20k coins. It is easy to gain level 4 for brownies, cookies and coffee quickly.

2. Layout - It takes One chair Per table. The ovens, coffee machines and serving tables do not need to be accessible to the customers & The person behind the register does not need space to move. Use all of these to maximize chair and table placement.

3. Tipping hint - When you go to tip someone, check their wall and look for people who have posted that they left a tip, visit them and leave a tip. Leaving a tip for someone who went out of their way to leave a note is a better chance they will most likely tip back.

4. Gifting - Gifting is on a 24 hour clock, so if you add a neighbor at 9pm and send them a gift, you will not be able to send them another gift until the next day at 9pm. If you want to be able to gift all at once, wait until the most convenient time and send them all at once instead of as you add the neighbors. Cappuccino's are the best value please refer to logon2k's post above.

One thing - understand that if you elect to purchase any "gems," you are doing so with hard money that will be billed to your credit card through iTunes. It is relatively easy to purchase these gems without knowing you are doing so and without having any idea of the expense. I unknowingly "purchased" 580 gems at a cost of $89.99. iTunes canceled the "purchase" when the scam was discovered but watch out, because it is precisely that - a scam.

This game/app is only out there for one reason - to dupe people into spending money they never intended to spend in the first place. So be careful.
