The Christmas Update is now rolling out for Restaurant Story! There is a ton of new content, along with some great new goals! This thread will be updated with the new content as I gain access to it.

Looks like cool new stuff. I'm not liking the wall paper but I'm sure others might. Just speaking for myself. Last years wall paper was better. I'm glad I got to buy enough from last year to use for this year. As far as as the goals. I'm glad Team Lava brought that back too. I'm sure the new update will take effect on Thursday for many. I checked both my Halloween and Regular version after resyncing with iTunes and restarting my device, and I don't have it. However, if TL ends up only putting these items on the Regular version for iOS WITHOUT updating it, I'm not going to be very happy. Original RS won't install for me. I just tried for the first time since World Games and it just sits there forever [even through my laptop]. But anyways I just wanted to say...I don't know if I have the update in the original RS....but I do have it in the Halloween version though....Are people getting it in one but not the other?

Where is the version

There is no xmas version yet. My update showed up in RS: Halloween. But for others it showed up in the original one.

Ok, I've deleted and reinstalled both the regular and normal version of RS. I can gift three items but can't see a thing! This has never happened to me when items were released. This sucks! What's going on? This isn't some LTO that only certain members get. Or the game released on one platform and not the other. I have an iPad2, it's silly some iOS users have it and some of us don't.

Fun as it is to make French Fries and Onion Rings in the Orange Deep Fryer, we thought the appliance might be a bit hard to acquire for newer players, so we made a quick change.

From now on, you'll find those two recipes in your Oven.

I just reloaded and got the second update. So disappointed. I wanted the goals. Now I am sad everytime someone is asking me for snowballs.....

I need to explain something. There are currently two updates that recently came out, hence the two different update threads. The update that came out for some people yesterday, the Christmas update with goals, was the Christmas Update. The update that rolled out around an hour ago IS NOT the Christmas update, it is the regular weekly update. Only some people have the Christmas Update.

Makes sense. But honestly, it's all the same. It's Christmas related stuff in both updates and I think it would cause less confusion to change the thread titles with the actual dates. Christmas with 12/5 and Weekly with 12/6. That's why I posted the screenshots in both threads yesterday and today because we're all talking about the same things in both. I always thought the "Christmas" thread was when there was an actual version out, in this case for Christmas.

This is wacky. One android phone has the new food, the other does not. Why play hide and seek with different players and devices? I'm sorry but it throws the balance off, you know we will complain endlessly and it's stupid.

First I am new to these games. I bought a kindle fire. I have an iPad. I have an Android Phone. While working in Europe, I decided to have a go at some of these games. I actually liked the concept. I was looking forward to this new release. When the push came through, it was food, goal items, and decorations. Without Goals, there is not much to do but stare at little kids eating food that is a bit like Thanksgiving leftovers. Then I came to the boards and see if it was tech glitch. After reading, I started doing research based on consumer posts here and other forums about TeamLava. I am little irked.

What’s irritating me is this seems to be a common problem and complaint with these updates. At what point does a company who fully intends to make money off the buying of imaginary products/icons actually start listening to their consumer?

Thanksgiving, Halloween and now Christmas – all have delays in releases on some platform.

This is a growing trend where instead of completing a product on multiple platforms, companies release bits here and there. This is not the first company to not have the ability to work out all the bugs or not able to schedule same time releases through Amazon, Google, and Apple. It appears your fix for this issue is to you release partial updates. It is also easy to say it's a big packet and walk away.

It’s simple to configure a release across multiple platforms. I know. I have done it. I do it regularly. It was a painful growing process, but why not make it a new year’s resolution?

Or how about this idea - why not let YOUR CONSUMERS know what is actually happening instead of looking like a company who is disorganized. I would rather spend money with a company who is fair and honest about mistakes than on one makes blanket announcements. Try a shelf date for each kindle, android, or apple– gee. That would be nice. Instead of saying update in 30 minutes…

Just a thought. I apologize for spelling, grammar and other typos. I never contribute to forums. Today I am jetlagged and tired of seeing companies only doing things based on individual consumer group. The consumer should not be penalized for their choices of platform. It’s not android, amazon, or apple customers. You have one customer, one group. Only doing a partial release is doing a job halfway.

This is just not a good way to do business. But then you are making money off people buying icons.

Just get it together, folks.

You make a great point. Servers can easily crash and there is nothing wrong with the updates for the most part rolling out slowly. The issue I think is communication. TL has never perfected this and probably never will. I'm sad that most of my nbrs don't have everything. However I feel that the only good thing that can come of this is insight. If I didn't have the updates I'd start collecting parts in the meantime.

I pay good money for items that are not real because I enjoy the decorating part of the game! I can see myself sticking around and decorating next Christmas but I can guarentee I will not stay here and spend my money if at every release I am fustrated and aggravated.

maybe in future you should do ACTUAL APP UPDATES not IN GAME UPDATES that way it may be solved much better like most games do for adding new content, to solve any problems

I just finished tipping all my 170 neighbors.

I had three neighbors with the Christmas Goals updates. All were level 99

I looked to see if the star rating had anything to do with it, it didnt.

so I had 3 level 99 neighbors with the update and 19 that were level 99 that didnt.

Android has a Xmas version but I don't see any goals. Just all the new food from last night and today. Apple doesn't have a Xmas version and some users have the dishes and goals. My neighbor has the first iPad with goals. I have an iPad2, no goals or stuff from last night.
