Can't figure out how to get build items OUT of Inventory

I'm finally at a level where I can build - I'm doing a barn that needs some of the items I've been given by neighbors (work gloves, wood boards, etc.) I CANNOT figure out how to get them out of my Inventory and use for the Build location.

Any tips?

You need to purchase the constructable you want to build, then when you click on it, the items that you need will show up inside of it. Once you have all the items, you click "build".
