I don't seem to be receiving gifts

Hey guys so I'm kinda new to the game so I might be missing something,., but I get the message that I received the gift and its already in my inventory but when I check I have the same amount of that item!! Rarely does it give me the option to ACCEPT the gift. Usually it says gift back and it's already in my inventory but it isn't there. What am I missing... Help pls thank you

Sounds like after reset you are actually looking at the previous day's gifts received (or older so check time recd). It gives a reminder of who gifted you most recently so you can choose whether to gift back. As you can only gift 3 gifts per day this list will disappear once all 3 are sent and you will then only see new gifts recd.
