How do we get updates? I use kindle fire and I have no idea how to update. THANKS

Well I'm android and on update day,(Thursday for me) the updates are automatically on my device with a message that says what items are new. I don't know how you kindle fire get the updates but I imagine its the same.

For those that are asking, there isn't and won't be a separate Thanksgiving edition for Restaurant Story (or any other Story game).

Thanksgiving items will be added to whatever version of Restaurant Story (or any other Story game) you are playing.

The version you play is a matter of personal preference.

I have them on iOS as well but I can't process gems, the screen just goes to processing and then goes back out without allowing gem purchase. No idea why but I guess I won't be getting any of this as I've already mastered all recipes and don't have enough gems for even the Fireplace. :(
Try going under your settings-store and log off of itunes then log back in to see if this helps.

You need that fireplace!!!!!

Make that iPad 2 as well, since I can't connect to it still. I keep getting iTunes store is down when I'm trying to update another game of mine and when I try to download a game via iTunes on the computer, it also tells me it's down. WAH!

Ok i have to buy the fall garden. It costed 70 gems but i really like it. Now i have only 54 gems, but the fall garden worth it :) now the only problem is whre do i put it? It is big and i have to reorganise my place ;)

I wish TL allowed the couch and bench to rotate all 4 ways, I hate how they only allow 2 way rotate with these things, it makes it hard to decorate the way I want to. :(

I bummed about not having new recipes as well, but at least I can let my stock dwindle some more since I'm not cooking right now. I've mastered everything so now it's just a wait and let sell down a bit then I'll start baking just the high profit recipes until we get new ones. :)

It could be, not sure. I know Sweetstuff didn't get it out of the box and she's on iOS and I did get it out of the box and I'm on iOS. My Android game didn't get it out of the box. :(

I absolutely love love love to be able to buy box items without gambling! Normally I would refrain from purchasing anything from this box because I hate gambling and wanted to save for Christmas but now that I can just buy all the super cute items I think I just might lose control of my debit card hehe.

I also think being able to buy the new items is wonderful! I hate the boxes. When I tried the boxes I never got the second prize item I wanted and I got my least favorite item multiple times. I just bought the new items that I liked and I'm very happy.

Mine are still out the box but makes me think that RS is actually ripping us off because 2 items inside the box are actually 15 gems each but when you want it from the box it's actually 24 gems :/

I don't think it's a glitch because the Pop-Up I received even stated that I could purchase via the box or for a limited time, in the market. I noticed my Android game only stated to purchase via the box and there was nothing in the design tab for the items. Also, if you look at LalaSmooth's post, the items even state a 5 day limit to purchase, so not a glitch.

The items you see for 15 gems are the 4th place items. Almost all 4 place items are rated between 10-20 gems MAX. The Autumn Party and Piano are 40 gems so most likely those are 2nd place prizes. The Rotisserie and Fireplace are 25 gems so most likely 3rd place prizes. The Fall Garden is 70 gems and is most likely the 1st place prize.

What improvement? What thought caused TL to favor some players over others in terms of the server update? Why do some have the option for 5 days to buy outside and others do not? If you're trying to see which way is going to make you the most money, YOU PROBABLY WANT TO LET 100% OF PLAYERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY.

I like the fact that they have offered these items outside the box for a limited time. It gives some people who wouldn't gamble on the box the chance to make the decision to buy the items or not. I agree it would be better if it was offered to everyone and hopefully that's something they're working on and will be able to do in the future.... I never got offered the discovery box items on Farm (I'm iOS) when they opened the box and put the items in the store, I'm still not over that one! The blue cottage...sigh... but I was happy that other people got the chance to buy outside the box. So I know how unfair it feels but this is the second time (that I can recall) that they have opened boxes in the last year so I'm happy about that and hope that they do it more often even if I get left out again, at least some people are getting the offer, better some than none. It would definitely be better if everyone got the offer though and it would give a more accurate outcome as to how good this offer works and maybe help them decide to do away with the boxes all together. 0.o

Yes it seems that way. I am so disappointed, I thought we were getting the option to purchase outside the box too.

I felt left out not getting a chance to have last weeks update. I was giving TL the benefit of the doubt that it was glitch or it was a problem with Amazon, and.once it was resolved we would get all of the update. Guess I was wrong...I don't see the point of playing anymore.

I really enjoyed playing all the games especially RS & BS........ :( feeling *****ed and let down :(

Not only Kindle players, I play with my iPad and got the same as you. Plus the last Gem Sale I got was last december right before I complaind about buying the new year tables for gems and they changed it for coins in minutes, never got my gems back and never got a Gem Sale again

Im thrilled with this update. I was one of the lucky ones with all the items outside the box, so I bought everything.
I feel really bad for others who got the box only. All the items are great though, unlike some other boxes from the past.
I was so afraid it was a glitch, i ended up buying gems without a sale, just because I ran out of them after getting the garden...70 gems...pricey!
Anyways...if i had the box only I would gamble on this box at least one or twice....everything except maybe the sign is awesome!

Great thanks to TL for spoiling the fun in the game again! I didn't know about the out of box items till I came to the forum and read about it. I'm also one of the unlucky player who didn't get this lucky deal. Oh well, at least I won't spend 24 gems to gamble on the new box. Gonna save up my gems for Christmas instead.

Well this marketing strategy will most likely go down in history has one of the most absurd ever. I was upset that I spent a load of gems in a failed attempt to obtain the autumn fountain. After reading the board and learning that a select group of people had the option to buy all the items without risk for five days; I am shocked as well as disappointed in TL. How is it possible to make this decision without recognizing the potential of alienating a significant portion of your customer base? Like me for example...I am already disgusted that as a Kindle player I missed out on most of the inexpensive but nicely designed autumn items. I told myself I would suffer through these frustrations and see what happened at Christmas time. Now...I'm thinking enough is enough. For the record, I am a large gem purchaser.

Thanks for letting me know. This is all too crazy for me. It's not much fun to see all the pretty decor and not have the opportunity to buy it or to be gifted parts for an oven I can't build in Bakery Story or to see clothing hanging on racks that I can't order. I heard that is a one hour catalog which translates into 20 gems that I can't earn. Hate to be so whiney, but boo-hoo!

First off, I loved this update. Fall is my favorite season and I'm thrilled with all of the new items. But seriously TL? I didn't get the offer either. I would have happily purchased enough gems to buy all of the items out of the box, but I'm definitely not going to buy gems to gamble. I had enough of earned gems to get one box, I got the acorn lamp. I had wanted the fireplace or the garden the most, but I'm not going to spend $ to gamble in hopes that I get the items I wanted, especially this close to the holidays. Limited time offers should be across the board. :( I play on android.

I think that allowing players the opportunity to purchase items outside the box is a great idea but it really should be offered to everyone because had I received the offer I would have purchased gems without a sale to get the fall garden.
But TL u should do this on other games too because there are many first place items Ive been unable to get on FS,and BS that I would gladly purchase

I'm still waiting for a gem sale. Of all the days to not get one! I want the piano, cake and maybe the bench. Stupid me opened a box on my new place and got the squirrel lamp. Could have saved nine gems but overall I love this update. Minute not having new recipes. If I don't get a sale ill say it wasn't meant for me to get anything and wait until next week when all the Xmas stuff rolls out.

How do youget these new items. One of my neighbors said they were available from the Potted Plant Design menu but I dont have them in either my regular or Thanksgiving edition. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I'm an Android user andd very bummed I can't purchase these and afraid the time limit to buy them will run out. =(

This is just another case of unfair practices by TL to offer these items for regular purchase for some and not for others. So the people who got this can at least spend their gems knowing the item they are getting, while the rest of us have to gamble in hopes we get the item we want. Does TL really care so little for their customers? I've never seen a company that tries to drive their customers away like TL does. This is a prime example why I won't purchase gems. I refuse to line their pockets when they care so little!
