Banners in Dragon Story

Do the banners serve any other purpose than just being decorative?

I don't really like them, and they just tend to get in the way, lol... But do they have any magic powers or anything like that, lol?

They are just a decoration, which I wish TeamLava would make more decorations, especially in Monster Story.
