As long as Restaurant Story is running in the background the number symbol that is shown when there is a new notification won't go away after switching back to the app. As it is you have to close the instance that is in the dock and relaunch it from the home screen to get it to go away. Not sure if this is a folder issue (I have it grouped with other games in a folder) or a multitasking one but I thought I'd mention it.
