Moving habits/farms/etc from Main Island to a different Island

How do I move something that is on my main island to a lower island like say a nest? I've tried dragging it down but it doesn't seem to work. There has to be a way I'm just wondering how. Thanks.

Just keep you finger on the screen as the screen moves over to where you want to place it. The habitat or whatever you're moving will stay on the island it was on until you move it into an area that it can be placed and it will pop back up on the screen. Key is don't worry about it not following your finger and never lift your finger off the screen.
